ArmyBengal
The Reds come back home for the next 3 series, starting with 3 against the Phillies tonight.Arroyo, Bailey, and Leake take the mound for the series and I can't say as I could guess what will happen here. This team is obviously capable of putting big runs on the board, but is inconsistent and the pitching has been spotty.GO REDS !!! skyline
It's nice to see Votto starting to hit. Looks like we'll be seeing Cingrani before too long, but not for the reason we were all hoping for
ArmyBengal
Yeah, it was nice to see them get the win last night. My hope for Cingrani is he throws so well, when Cueto is back up to speed, they couldn't possibly send him back down and Leake gets the demotion. skyline
A little nugget from ESPN last night:Homer Bailey tied his career-high with 10 K on only 89 pitches... It's his 2nd career 10-K, 0-BB game. The only other player in the past 10 seasons to go at least 8 IP with 10 K and throw fewer than 90 pitches was Randy Johnson in 2004. ArmyBengal
Well, the Reds counter with a sweep of the Phillies. They made quick work in the continuation game, getting the 1-0 and then had Leake show up like an ace in the rotation.Leake pitched 7 scoreless, while giving up only 3 hits and striking out 7.Couple that with him going 3 of 4 with an RBI and 3 runs and it was a very good night for Leake. Now all he has to do is continue that trend or at least closer to that trend, as opposed to following it up by getting shelled. No rest for the team and it's off to the next series... skyline
That sure was a nice way to end that series out. Was sad to see the Votto was the only person in the lineup without a hit. They are really killing it at home so far this year. Here's hoping they get things figured out on the road...
