HoosierCat
A couple rules changes for the upcoming season./>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/05/22/nfl-owners-approve-moving-trade-deadline-allowing-ir-exemption/The trade deadline has been moved back from week 6 to week 8. I can't argue with that, especially since I've been calling for such a move for a while. Even week 8 is probably still a bit early but I can see (slightly) worries that very bad teams would hold a fire sale.IR has been tweaked so that now a team can designate one guy "for return." He has to be on the roster week 1 and can't return to practice for 6 weeks and to the game for 8. Strikes me as rather nitpicky and of limited utility, but whatever. I don't see much of any reason to limit it to just one guy.
ArmyBengal
With teams needing to spend up to a certain percentage of the cap starting next season (I think) it probably offsets the concern for teams going all fire sale mode. I can see the concern as well, but i'm not worried about it and like the move overall.
