Sea Ray
I don't think they can count on Muckleroy until he plays. Didn't he have a ruptured Achilles? That's a serious injury for a football player
walzav29
They were #7 which is very good. Zimmer has a history of getting production out of guys that were thought to be no good. Tank, Crocker, and Nelson. There is no doubt that Harvey and Anderson HAVE physical talent. Throw in a healthy Dunlap and just the experience and I fell this group will be better. derekshank
Yes, the Bengals ranked #7 last year... but they didn't face very many elite QBs. Here were the rankings by passer rating:Alex Smith: 9th with 90.7Ben Roethlisberger: 10th with 90.1Matt Hasselbeck: 16th with 82.4Joe Flacco: 18th with 80.9Tavaris Jackson: 21st with 79.2Ryan Fitzpatrick: 22nd with 79.1Colt McCoy: 25th with 74.6John Skelton 31st with 68.9Curtis Painter: 32nd with 66.6Blaine Gabbert: 33rd with 65.4TJ Yates: Didn't play enough snaps to qualifyKellen Clemens: Didn't play enough snaps to qualifyKyle Orton: Didn't play enough snaps to qualifyNot exactly a list of world beaters there. Between Tavaris Jackson, Colt McCoy, John Skelton, Curtis Painter, Blaine Gabbert, TJ Yates, and Kellen Clemens.... half of the Bengals games were against the three worst qualifying QBs, 5 back-ups, and 2 against Colt McCoy. Thanks schedule makers! That's not to say that the Bengals didn't earn their #7 ranking... but 2012 is a very different situation. The Bengals will face Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Michael Vick, Philip Rivers, and RGIII.If the Bengals finish the season ranked #7 this year... it will be a much more impressive accomplishment than it was last year. The offense on the other hand was forced to play 6 games against the top 4 defenses... and 10 games against the top 10 defenses. That schedule softens considerably, with the NFC East, and AFC West and a 3rd place schedule. Even if the defense takes a step back statistically (which I would say is probable)... I would expect that the offense will be able to take two steps forward.
volcom69
I thought beginning of the year they were pretty good, but towards the end it fell apart. If they can keep playing like did last year in the beginning they can be pretty good
ArmyBengal
Things weren't helped when Sims went down and the running defense suffered. With the depth we gained in the draft, I don't see that being an issue. That being said, i'm looking forward to see these guys move forward having OTA's and camp this season. Kazkal
Maualuga has been a disappointment thus far... but if he can return to his early season form and stay healthy, I'm not too worried.Agreed and I'll think he'll be playing even with larger fire under his arse because fact he knows he needs to proove he is a starter in this league for years to come being He's a FA next year.
