Comparing Ben and Andy's rookie season

This is through their first 11 games

Ben - 159/242 65% 1986 yds 14td 5 int

Andy - 218/363 60.1% 2509 yds 16td 12 int

Obviously Andy had to shoulder more of the load, but Ben had a phenomenal rookie season.

Yes, he did. But you can see what kind of team they were. They were #1 in rushing, and #1 in defense.

He only threw the ball around 22 times/game... and they ran the ball nearly 39 times/game. The playaction with Willie Parker and Bettis was incredibly helpful to him.

The Bengals have been far more pass happy than I would have wanted them to be with a rookie QB (Dalton is throwing 33 times/game... and the Bengals are running the ball only 28 times/game), but he is showing he is up to the task.

Roethlisberger had an incredibly impressive rookie year... but everyone knew that the Steelers were a run first, defense heavy team. The Bengals are asking Dalton to go out there and win games. Frankly, I've never seen a rookie do a better job.

Yea really coming into this season, and listening to Gruden i figured they would be running it much more then they have been. Ben that year sometimes only had to throw it 15 times, there are times when Dalton needs to throw it over 40 times. While there are many games i would prefer them to run it more then they throw, to take time off the clock, i couldnt be anymore happier with the QB the bengals have.
