Sea Ray
While I would like to see MORE pressure than what we got in the Ravens game, I won't be complaining.Yet another reason not to get to worked up about what you see in week #1.Oh yeah, the Pats got handled by the Jets yesterday as well...Wasn't everyone ready to hand the Lombardi to the Pats last week ??On First Take ESPN this morning a Ravens backer said that Flacco's problem was that his O-line didn't protect him well enough. In other words, that defense you're talking about put too much pressure on him.I have no problem with the pressure they put on the QB. They didn't get sacks but they got something even better--turnovers
DC_Bengals_Fan
I have no problem with the pressure they put on the QB. They didn't get sacks but they got something even better--turnoversExactly. Against Flacco, it's much more important to keep contain than chase him for the sack, for two reasons: 1) he can kill you with his legs if you leave your lane, and 2) he panics under minimal pressure if he can't easily get away. This happened all game long - I'll take him either chucking it deep without really aiming, or throwing it away if it means not letting him get out of the pocket.Note that would not be the winning strategy for all QBs, but it is for Flacco. HairOnFire
The big difference I saw was pressure on the QB which resulted in four interceptions which proved to be the difference in the game. It was nothing like last week watching Brady basically camping out in the pocket with time to roast marshmallows. Yup. And even though they didn't take one of my suggestions by playing Dunlap they did take the other by moving Michael Johnson around more often. For just one example, on the last Baltimore drive Michael Johnson lined up exclusively at DE...(after not playing a single snap at that position against the Patriots)...and he easily whipped Michael Oher on three straight snaps, one of which resulted in a Geno Atkins sack. BTW, just how overrated is Michael Oher? (Oher-rated?)

I'm VERY pleased with what I saw, I simply want more and this defense can do it.

I did want to add that snipet from the national media.I'd love to see more pressure on the QB of course but let's not get too greedy... ArmyBengal
Sorry, I'll just be the greedy bastard of the group. I want to see pressure, get sacks, and force turnovers !!!

If only Bratkowski could see how well getting creative works, we could be on to something this year.
