DC_Bengals_Fan
Regarding potential bell-cow backs, I am surprised we didn't take Blount when he was there in the 7th. I know we had threads about him here where people were thinking as high as the 4th comp pick. I recall being the downer on Blount, but even then would have been fine spending a 6th at least. I figured that pick had Mike Brown's name on it if any ever did.
HairOnFire
I don't care how many of these high profile deals blow up on the Jets. They'll always be monsters because their offensive line all but guarantees a strong running game and the defense was already elite before adding a top shelf CB. That's still a championship formula. That only means the old formula needs a tweak, not abandoned altogether. And tweaking the formula is exactly what the Jets did by filling the 3rd CB role with a 1st round draft pick. It's brilliant. cincyhokie
Meanwhile, the Patriots are flying under the radar, keeping their mouths shut, and reloading.Unless they reload the positions of "guy who tapes other teams walk-throughs", and "guy who tapes and steals other teams' sideline signs", I think the Patriots are just another NFL team.I think the depth of their cheating is unknown. Go back and look at how they've done once they were caught and fined half a million bucks. They quit cheating, and suddenly you don't hear announcers saying the Patriots are so good, it looks like they know what the other team is doing. They did know what the other team was doing. But they don't anymore, so I don't find them particularly intimidating. They went undefeated the year after they were caught cheating. Then again, I don't know how much more cheating they stopped doing after they were caught the first time. I would say having Brady knocked out for a year and aging skill players has more to do with their decline than the cheating. I don't like the Patriots but I like them much more than Fat Rex's Jets and I think they're going to be a better team than the overhyped "same 'ol Jets".
