Emotional ex-Bengal Chris Perry arrested in Brooklyn

Former Cincinnati Bengals running back Chris Perry was arrested in the Brooklyn apartment of his grandmother on Wednesday after an altercation with a cousin, TMZ.com reported.

The former first-round draft pick did not play in the NFL last season. Perry, who is represented by Maximum Sports Managements Eugene Parker and Paul Lawrence, is going through a trying and emotional time. Lawrence told the National Football Post that Perrys mother Irene, who battled cancer when he was a star at Michigan, is terminally ill and hospitalized in New York after the disease returned.

Perry and his mother have a very close relationship. When he was in college, he would write MOM in large black letters on a white wristband and wear it around his left biceps each game.

Perry, who had tryouts last season with the New York Jets and Washington Redskins, is attempting to cope with the reality that breast cancer will claim his mother. Perry was released by the Bengals the day after the draft last year.

I'm sorry to hear about this. It's really tough to watch your mom (or anyone) fight something like cancer...
