Rolltide
I'm a Titan fan who registered here to primarily give my opinion about Carlos Dunlap. I wanted us to take him at 16 so none of you should complain about him a whole round later. I think he is the best defensive end in the whole draft. He has the best size-speed combination since 2006 with Mario Williams. @ 6'6 280 he ran a 4.61 in the rain on his Florida pro day. That is almost inhuman! In the titans system he could have played any of the 4 DL positions. He can get stronger, he can get bigger if asked to do so. This is a good kid his parents are professionals, his mom is a school principal and he had a 2.9 GPA at a top 100 University. His pro day interview was solid. Don't know as much about the Bengals system or the D-line coach but i truly believe that Washburn is the best D-line coach in the business and he would have made him a monster stud for the Titans. He will most likely be great in your system. Congratulations on a great pick!
Rolltide
Dunlap was defensive player of the game against Oklahoma last year and dominated Cincinnati in the sugar bowl this year. He has proven himself in big games. He has a high number of defended passes in his career and has blocked 4 kicks. He can make impact plays in games where he does not dominate by batting a ball that gets picked or by blocking a kick. He blocked a FG in the championship game against Oklahoma with Florida up by 10. It was a huge play!

He was my favorite pick of the entire draft this year (not significantly unlike Maualuga last year), so I definitely agree with you. I compared him to Julius Peppers, because he has all of the ability in the world, but is said to not play up to his potential.Well, teams still had to constantly double team him, and he still put up the most sacks on the team, the 2nd most tackles for loss, and had batted down 6 passes. The guy is going to be awesome. The people who didn't like the pick are stupid, and the people that are so-so on it will be pleasantly surprised.

What a loser. And I agree with you absolutely Mitchell in that I think his "character concerns" have been blown entirely out of proportion. I think he made an enormous mistake with the DUI incident, but from everything I've read, he's a great kid from a good family that made a mistake. I'm thrilled to have him on board. Rolltide
The Titans took the safe road by drafting Derrick Morgan but Dunlap is 13 lbs and 2 1/2 inches larger and he is faster. I'm afraid the Colts got the more impact player in Hughes and Dunlap will be the best all around player. The Titans need pass rushers since they have gone from one of the league's most aggressive defenses when they went to the super bowl in 99 to basically a rush 4 cover 2 so the front guys have to get to the QB. What is amazing about the titans transformation is that it occurred with the same head coach. Doesn't make sense to me. I wish the titans had a guy like Zimmer running the defense.
