Whoever that is

FA WR drafted 2007 in r4 by Titans - played at Florida State.

Here is his FSU bio: http://www.seminoles...is_chris00.html

I think this means goodbye Simpson.

Do you really think they would let him go before OTA's and training camp? I expect that they would give him every opportunity to "get it" before the send him packing. But you may be right. Maybe they're making preparations as we speak.

Either way, it is not a big vote of confidence.

I appreciate, here again, the Bengals being pro-active.

If they release Simpson, it won't be for Chris Davis, who has all of 7 career NFL Receptions (Only 6 more than Simpson).

If Simpson loses his roster spot, it will most likely be to someone the Bengals take in the Draft.

That said, I think we do see a new Jerome Simpson when training camp rolls around.

Also, I just don't blame Simpson, I blame the staff namely Mike Sheppard. They knew he was a project when drafted, but yet they FAILED to mold him into an NFL WR. That's your f'n job....

Gosh, the Bengals have absolutely ZERO confidence in Caldwell's ability to return kicks. Considering he could possibly be passed on the depth chart by any number of WRs already on the roster (not including potential draft picks), I wonder how long it'll be until he's considered a "bust". I know he made some nice plays early, but he absolutely disappeared down the stretch, and I can almost guarantee you that Simmons will not trot him out to return another kick, which negatively affects Andre's value as one of the players on your active roster.

All that said, I don't think the Bengals are done at WR, so this Davis guy would have to beat out Cosby to make this team.
