HoTbOy
I just hope that some of players read that article and see what the Steelers used to think about them, and hope that it gets them fired up for the rematch in S++tsburgh and sweep their a**... agreen_112
Referring to that 2005 playoff game like he did - "we knew something bizarre would happen" is certainly accurate if by that he means our-placing-a-bounty-on-carson-and-taking-him-out-with-a-cheap-hit is "bizarre"...I will hold that with me to the death.. It was a cheap shot. It was a bounty from Cowher. He sent that hit on Carson, maybe not directly, but he definitely sent that message. I f**king hate the Steelers. That was our year. From the very first play you could tell the Steelers couldn't stop our offense.
jjakq27
For those of us that were here the day that Carson was injured, you know how bad it got on this board. In fact it is still the date with the highest number of individuals on the board ever. During those "discussions" there was no sympathy, etc. from the Steelers posters regarding Carson's injury. In fact it was downright cruel and nasty in many cases. But now that Polamalu and Parker are hurt and Smith is out for the year, I am beginning to hear that the injury card is being played by Steelers fans. Somehow I am not surprised. HairOnFire
But it was interesting (to me, anyhow) to read Bettis confirm what so many of us have always suspected, that other teams had no respect for the Bengals, and that the core strategy for success was just to let the "Bungles" lose the game. True, but we've heard those remarks from numerous others throughout the years. In fact, since I was five or six years old I've been hearing coaches explain how 80% of games are won, not by exotic schemes or better personel, but simply by making fewer mistakes than the other guy. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the biggest goal facing this team isn't merely winning enough games to become respected again, but rather....changing the reputation of this team from soft to hard, and from an offensive mindset into a brutish physical team, both offensive and defensive, that just so happens to have a Carson Palmer as it's QB.
