BlainThePain Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/32489644/ns/sports-player_news/Brandon Marshall worked strictly with the scout-team offense during Broncos practice Wednesday. He simulated T.J. Houshmandzadeh for the second exhibition; something a practice squad player usually does. Marshall watched drills behind WRs like Matt Willis and Chad Jackson. This is becoming a big concern for his fantasy stock. Coach Josh McDaniels has proved that he values his system over talent, and Marshall isn't even close to knowing his new playbook. Apparently he hasn't even learned the playbook. I don't think you could ask for a better season opening opponent. They have a terrible defense, a terrible QB, and only one good WR if Brandon Marshall won't be playing. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 I think Eddie Royal would become the #1. He played well as a rookie last year, but he had Cutler throwing him the ball as well.Orton sucks. Even with Marshall, the Bengals will win this game. Oh yeah, McDaniels is an idiot... Quote

gregstephens Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 As messed up as Marshall is, not knowing the playbook, being pissed at his team, and as good as our starting secondary has looked, I say start the man. Quote

Here's to hoping we get some nice protection for palmer and see 85 or 15 with a nice 60 yard TD at some point. Quote

The Broncos only gave up 12 sacks last year. Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 Marshall seems intent on following in Chad's footsteps. To recap, you begin by attempting to talk your way off of the team. Then, you send not so subtle signals demonstrating your willingness to deliberately tank the season. And then, if your demands aren't met....you do just that. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 Yeah, his comments about not even being close to knowing the playbook came across as just that. I mean it's hard to believe that a "professional" WR doesn't have a clue what the offense is doing. It comes across as him trying to give an excuse for when he goes out and does absolutely NOTHING !!!
