Reds vs. Cardinals

Ok, so they got swept by the Brewers. I made the comment in the other thread that they play well at home, so I'm still ok seeing as how we are only 3.5 out and 1 behind the Cardinals who we start a 4 game series against tonight. Volquez gets the start tonight followed by Arroyo, Cuetto, and Harang. It was mentioned before that the pitching staff can't keep giving up runs like that and I will agree, but at the same time, the Reds can't afford to go 3-16 with runners in scoring position the way they did against the Brewers. Votto being out isn't going to help that situation, but I believe they did the right thing in putting him on the DL. Get better now and move on knowing they are going to have to make a push after the break anyway.

The Brewers are starting a 4 game series against the Marlins, so the Reds can't afford to get swept against the Cardinals here. They haven't done real well as of late playing IN St. Louis, so here's to hoping their fortunes change and Volquez is feeling recharged after coming off the DL.

Go Reds !!!

I hope they can figure out what's up with Volquez. It's amazing how our bullpen made it happen after he left in the first. You have to love seeing that when playing a team like the Cardinals. Arroyo gets the start tonight, so lets hope they can keep the winning ways !!!

<_< ................ well, everybody kinda knew that this wasn't going to be an easy trip going in. Only salvable point of the evening is that Florida handed the Brewers their butts again, so we didn't fall any and the Cards gained a game.

Tomorrows another day.

Getting this win tonight after last nights disapointment was huge !

One more at St. Louis and then Chicago comes to town. Brewers won tonight as well, so we didn't gain on them ..... but we are cutting into St. Loius' lead. Hopefully we can make it 3 out of 4 tomorrow night.
