ArmyBengal
I say keep him for the depth as well. He's under contract for a few more years and God knows this o-line would benefit greatly with a healthy Jones providing (if nothing else) depth. If we are talking about teams in need of an o-lineman, you need not look any further than the Detroit Lions. They didn't even get o-line help until the 7th round and are in desperate need. HairOnFire
Trade him if you can. If you can't keep him for depth. But if he can't even provide that much then make him the last cut you make before the season begins. Because this team doesn't owe Levi Jones anything....including an early release. This thread can officially close in my mind now, because there is nothing left to discuss. This should be the plan.

As long as he shows up for workouts and spring training, keep him and evaluate him just like all the other talent on the team.

This team would be at its best if Levi could magically return to '05 form while A. Smith mans the RT spot.If that's not the case... it's not as if the Bengals are stacked at OT. He would provide adequate LT depth if anyone gets injured in the course of the season. If even then he still whines and complains and doesn't give effort, f**k him. ArmyBengal
Without being able to spread the cap hit out over the following year, there is no reason to do him any favors by releasing him early. The team has more to benefit by holding onto him for as long as they can. Agree in holding on to try to work a trade and then releasing at the last minute if none is made. HairOnFire
Props to StripeHype for finding some information that doesn't concern what color pants Chad is wearing. Apparently Levi is lobbying to become a Cardinal, speculation that doesn't interest me in the slightest. However, I did take note of Levi's most recent remarks about his health, and I have to repeat....if he's physically sound I wouldn't do him any favors by giving him his release. “I definitely would want to play here (Arizona). That would be the ultimate goal. I don’t fully know what their situation is at tackle or what their needs are. It’s in God’s hands. I’d love to come home, but wherever I’m called, that’s where I’ve got to go. it’s the nature of this league.”“My health is good. A lot of people thought it was my knee last year, but i it was actually my right leg. I had a lot of scar tissue up and down my right leg that caused it do go numb. I got that operated on this year and I’m good. I’m here in the Valley working out at API every day.”
ArmyBengal
Nothing would please me more than to see them actually trade him and get ANYTHING as opposed to just letting him walk.Agree with not doing him any favors...
