Baraka Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 i read on pft that one team is baltimore.this class of centers is too good not to take one, besides who's going to play the position this year.with our lack of activity in free agency thus far we're pigeon-holing our selves in the draft and that sets you up for disaster. HairOnFire Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 you don't think the bengals will draft a center in the 2 or 3 round? I'm sure it will be considered, but when push comes to shove I'm not convinced they can bring themselves to use the 38th pick on a center. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 mike brown can't be that stupid.you apparently don't know Mike "Son of a Genius" Brown very well.He will always meet and sometimes exceed the limits of human stupidity; unless it involves dollars going into his pocket, in which case he's one of the smartest weasels you'll ever know Quote
HAPPYJAQ Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 jake grove signed with the fins today 5 year 29 million 14.5 guaranteedThe good news is that, with more than a few teams signing C's this offseason to huge deals, those teams have eliminated the need to consider drafting a C in the high rounds. I think it's a good chance that all 3 of the top prospect C's could be available at #38. As long as we can re-sign Benson, I'd be OK drafting a C there. I do hate the fact the next year smells like we'll either have a rookie C starting or, gulp, Eric Ghiaciuc. Quote
cincy9275 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 the bengals plan is pretty clear. their not going to spend anything in free agency, except for a couple lower tier guys to fill roster space. mikey and marv are going to try to fill their needs in the draft. then gain some comp picks for losing all the starters from last season. go in to next years draft with about 10 or so picks and try to fill the rest of their needs then. now, the question is are the bengals comfortable with collins and whit at the left and right tackle positions. if so then that opens up the draft a little more and allows them to take who they fell is the BPA or trade down. ArmyBengal Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 I honestly think the Bengals will take a Center in the 2nd. I think they have to with the fact that Wood is no longer viewed as being there in the 3rd and unless they are enamored with Caldwell, they have to take one in the 2nd. Mack, Unger, and Wood will all be gone by the end of the 2nd. Luigs could be there in the 3rd as well.I just can't see passing on the top center in the draft (whomever they feel that is) when they pick in the 2nd when they have such a glaring need as well.
