BengalszoneBilly
Alright. It's obvious he's going to use the derogatory word "Bungles" rather than "Bengals". It drove me up the wall too, at first. I will vouch for him being a Bengal fan, albeit a very critical one. You might as well get used to it or ignore it, because I can pretty much assure you he isn't going anyplace. And let me add he's a more regular poster here than 95% of the other members who exclusively use the name Bengals, so that's what permits me to let it go.(If the truth be known, I can't wait for the Bengals to make the playoffs this year so he would stop, as he promised!) :player:
chrishcovga
He's not going to stop because he's Bi-Polar If the Bengals are cold, they're the Bungles, if the Bengals are Hot, he'll say , well at least they're not playing BUNGLE football ! * Don't wait for Change , Make Changes Happen ! Barbarella is an alter-ego. A Robin to his own Batman if you will, which simply means, while you guys are gnashing your teeth about what he said about our Beloved Bengals, He's somewhere playing with him-selves !! Billy's got it--now why can't the rest of you girls get it???I've been a fan of the "Bengals" from 1972-1990 and a critical fan of the Bungles from 1991-2004.Billy's a good man--you girls who are complaining about the Bungles thing should probably hear him out--he was dead-on.And hey theravenssuck: I noticed that you threw me in with Ravens Fans by saying:"If not for ML YOU would have never drafted Ray Lewis...thus, the defense would not be as good."Uh dude--don't throw me into that f**king mess. I agree with you. The Ravens do suck. I'm not a fan. I'm just being logical about the argument. As far as Marvin Lewis making the Ravens Defense what it was--I would say that Marvin had plenty of personnel help in that department--HOW CAN YOU NOT GO WRONG BY HAVING 2 FATASSES LIKE TONY "GOOSE" SIRAGUSA AND SAM ADAMS UP FRONT???No wonder why their rush defense was so damned good. No wonder why DA KILLA was never touched.BunglesFanSince1968: What can I say??? I'm flattered that you think so highly of me. As for being a BrownTerd Fan:BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!Awwwwww!!! Sorry--but you are incorrect, sir. It looks like you don't get to be a millionaire either. Thanks for playing.I'll just say this: IF IT'S BROWN, FLUSH IT DOWN!!!
ArmyBengal
Well, I agree with Billy here. At first it bugged the living dogs**t out of me, but oh well, ignore it if you don't like it. He makes very valid points and as much as most don't want to agree with him, he's pretty much on point. Basically says, proof is in the pudding. An 8-8 season doesn't make your Super Bowl Champs the next. While I believe, as do most others here, that the Bengals will FINALLY have their breakout season this year and rise above 8-8, there are many hurdles and can just as easily see bad things happening. I still believe 2005 and 2006 to our years where we are the team to beat. Anyway, have a great Bengal day !!WHODEY !!!
bengalsfansince68
Barbie,I could not agree more with being critical of the way that this organization has been run over the last decade plus. If you cannot see how much better it is being done since Mikey handed over the reigns to ML, maybe it is because you enjoy being a complete d!ck on this board.Bear in mind that I did not say that you were a Browns fan, only that you conduct yourself like one. Same arrogant assh@le attitude.Still unimpressed.Luv ya man.
ArmyBengal
Don't think ANYONE can dispute how things are getting better since Marvin Lewis stepped in. However, things getting better in the Front Office and then showing up on the field in the number of wins are two different things. Once that happens, I believe most of these types of conversations go away.WHODEY !!!
cincykent
What is so awesome is that this season most of the guys on the Bengals will not know what the term "Bungals" means. With all the new draft picks and free agents this year plus the ones added last year they only identify with Marvin Lewis and the new Bengals. The true Bengal fans will have the last laugh over the next few years. Of course then we have to deal with all the bandwagon fans!!!! EdwardG
I tend to agree with Barbarian's picks. We have a lot of question marks on the team right now, most pointedly at quarterback. Our running back only has a handful of starts. Our whole defense is quite questionable, as we didn't exactly go out and get superstars to fill the holes we had. I would be happy to see us go 8-8 again, with the real payoff coming in 2005. However, I would not be surprised if we 6-10 if Palmer struggles in the beginning of the season. JPW
I find this interesting. The debate among national sports writers is, can The Bengals Challenge The Ravens for the division championship.Yet some of the team's own Fans in Cincinnati see a drop off year, with the team ending up near the bottom of the division.Well....There are Many Factors involved in how any season will Play Out.That makes for a rather Wide Range, in the Probable Results of any particular team. The best that anyone can do is render an educated guess.Every team has question marks:Nobody can control who will stay healthy and who won't.Nobody can say who will play up to expectations and who won't.But let's take a look at some of the question marks and expectations in the AFC North. The Bengals are starting a rookie QB.So are the Ravins, Boller is still technically a rookie. And he had what, the worst QB rating in the league last year?Even some of the people in his own organization do not think that he is "the answer".They are the Champs and so are the team to beat. They kept their team together and will be a good team again. But that is already Factored in from last year.I don't see where they did much at all to Improve themselves over the off season. The Steelers OL should be better this year (question mark) which would be a big help for them. But it is just as likely that their defense will be worst than it has been.Their QB will be looking over his shoulder and most likely more interested in keeping his job (that is where his $$ is) than the team.Big Ben is a Very Nice pick up for the future. But I don't see where they have helped themselves much for this year. The Browns brought in a former pro-bowl QB.But he is 34 years old and was showing signs of slowing down last year.Add in that he will have all new team mates to work with and that it will be his 1st year in a new offense and the sum is a (question mark).Besides IMO the whole organization is in disarray and who knows if they will even be able to sign their top pick.I don't see where the Browns have much improvement. The Bengals look Better at almost every position on their defense.Of course there was a LOT of room for improvement on a unit that was near to last in the league last year.It will be disappointing if the Gardener deal doesn't work out.IMO the DL is the Biggest Question Mark for the team.IF Gardener could play, anywhere close to as good has he used to be, it would be a big help. The point here is that ANY Improvement from the defense with be a PLUS."I would not be surprised if we 6-10 if Palmer struggles in the beginning of the season."Well, it is not like we exactly got off to a Blazing Start Last year.If Palmer struggles too much, Kitna will step back in.I really do not expect that to happen, Palmer is as ready as any untested QB can be.But ML has already said the he will not allow one player to keep the whole Team down.Yea Rudi has only played in 20 NFL games. But in those 20 games he has shown that he Can Play in the NFL.Our OL is in tack and maybe even a bit better.I don't see any Reason to Expect that Rudi would Not Continue to be a productive RB?I would say that the Odds of Rudi matching last years out put, are at least as good as the Odds of Lewis Blasting out Another 2K plus yards season. The Bengals were not the best team in the division last year but they were good enough to go 8-8 in spite of all the holes that they had.The Bengals have question marks, well so does every other team in the division.I would say that the Bengals have fewer question mark this year than they had last year, when they were in the fight till the last game of the season. No the Bengals didn't get "super stars" to fill the hole that the team had last year. But the point is that they DID fill a LOT of holes.I don't think that any other team in the division can say the same thing.Taking into consideration how good the teams were last year, and what changes were made this year, I don't see where it Adds up to the Bengals dropping to near the bottom.
