Barbarian
Has anyone seen the 2004 Pro Football season predictions? The new magazine is on the shelves and has the Bengals winning the division. Sounds like a Dr. Z prediction from Sport's Illustrated. I can't believe "Z" still has a job. He's been off more times than a government employee.Don't kid yourselves, fellas--the Ravens are the team to beat in the AFC Nothing. turningpoint
you're an idiot. the bengals are the team to beat, with Jamal Lewis going trial in august, and kyle boller with no 1 to throw 2. a much improved bengasl defense also.the #2 in the division IMO is the steelers.so please shut the f**k up you know nothing.not to mention he's done decently on picks, i'd like to see you pick all the division winners right now, and see how right you are in 6 months. Turning Point, thanks for the idiot comment. I ain't mad at ya. The fact of the matter is--is that I've already made my predictions. I think the Panthers will get "Artrell'ed".So, who's the idiot??? This thread is on the same page as this one in the Cincinnati Bungles Forum--or did you trip on acid so much in high school, that your short-term memory is gone???Also, I need to know why the Bungles are "the team to beat". With an 8-8 record last year--virtually no changes on the Defensive Line, still no Gardener (like it's going to matter if he signs anyway), and a rookie QB!!! I'd much rather be in the Ravens' shoes right now.As for Boller with "no 1 to throw 2"--first off, who are you--PRINCE??? Second, I guess you've never heard of Travis Taylor or Todd Heap, huh???Before you start calling people idiots, I suggest you first look in the mirror, turning. With all these meltdowns you have about my posts, maybe I should refer to you as "BOILINGPOINT".

theravenssuck
Barbarian, I think your picks are a joke. How can you have the bengals getting worse when all they did in the off-season was improve? And how can you call Palmer a "rookie"? He learned a lot last year by sitting on the bench and talking to the qb coach and picking up defenses. To call him a "rookie" is stupid. He'll be better off then boller. Although a wiseman said to me once:"Opinions are like a**h***s, everyone has one except some smell worse than others."Take it how you may, theravenssuck--but the Ravens still have that defense that the Bungles lack. Or did you like that out in the desert when some nobody named Marcus Shipp ran all over that "run defense"???IN MY OPINION, The Bungles regress with FIRST-TIME STARTER Palmer at the helm.On second thought, what the hell am I doing??? Why am I explaining myself to 2 rookies that haven't done jack yet???
theravenssuck
Barbarian, You're overlooking the fact that ML was the one to build up the raven defense that you say is so great. He now has the guys he wants in there and I only expect that the defense to improve greatly. And big deal...the ravens have a good defense. Defense isn't everything. The ravens have no offense. JL can't carry the offense by himself...even if he does play.
Sox
Barbarian, many people jump on you not because of your opinions, but because you insist on still using the term "Bungles".People don't like it,you know they don't like it,but you still do it.Since "Bungles" is a derogatory term used by rival fans to describe the Bengals and not by Bengal fans themselves, one might think you were just a troll wearing Bengal Fan shades.Continue to use it,people are going to get on your case like it or not,but then again, that's EXACTLY what you want, isn't it? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, the voice of reason Seriously though, Marvin Lewis has nothing to do with the current Ravens defense except that he coached Ray, Boulware, and C-Mac.Marvin was the architect of our 4-3 2000 defense but he doesn't endorse the 3-4 which we currently use.Id also like to point out that while our defense was good and had many probowlers with Marvin as D-Coordinator, we didn't win anything substantial until Billick took over the team as head coach.Im not knocking Marvin here, just pointing out that Billick was the ultimate reason we won the superbowl and Billick is still here.As Billy correctly points out, we ARE the team to beat based solely on our AFC North championship last season. Any hopes or beliefs otherwise only delude yourselves.

chrishcovga
The Ravens are a curse to the 32 professional football teams. They were a "frankenstein" . And the sole reason why the movie BASEketball was Made ! But back to the forum... Jamal Lewis won't be able to duplicate last years numbers, and considering the wear a 2000 yard season will have on him, I expect him to see a lot of IR this year. Add in the fact that Boller doesn't have anyone to throw to , means they'll be competitive , but will watch Cincy take over this Division outright by week 10 ! JPW
The Ravens are the Champs so yea they are the team to beat. But IMHO the Bengals have had the best off-season of any team in our division. The Ravens best move of the off-season was re-signing their own players.I am not down playing that, it was the smarts thing for them to do.They had a good team last year and will have a good team this year. But they didn't really do anything to Improve the team over the off-season.People can talk all they want to, about how the Bengals didn't land any big name players. But ML has a Plan and the players he Has brought in Fit that Plan. For what Sapps alone would have cost us, we were able to bring in 3 players. The Bengals will be just as good (or better) as last year at: OL, WR and RBs.The Bengals will be Better at: ILB, OLB, FS, SS, CB and Special Teams. And as much as I Hate to disagree with Barbarian, I think that Gardener is a Great Fit for our team. With Gardener and an outstanding prospect to develop (Askew), The Bengals are also going to be Better on the DL.Palmer hasn't taken a single snap in the NFL yet, so QB is a question mark. But from all accounts, he is as Ready as any untested QB can be, to make the transition to the NFL.I LIKE our chances with Palmer. The division came down to the last game of the season last year.IMHO, The Bengals will be Better this year than they were last year.I see, The Cincinnati Bengals as AFC Champs in 04 ! theravenssuck
Barbarian, Although JL did carry the offense last year, I don't believe he's going to this year. He won't have another 2000 yard season this year...With his legal troubles and the wear of last year, he wont be the big runner he was last year. And as far as the defense goes, yes ML was/is the reason the ravens defense was so good. If not for ML you would have never drafted Ray Lewis...thus, the defense would not be as good. And as far as the ravens going 10-6 last year...remember week 12. They were helped greatly by the officiating crew. They should have been 9-7 making it much more interesting in the last week of the season.
bengalsfansince68
Barbarian,The more I read your posts the more convinced I am that you are similar to Rush Limbaugh. You spew moronic bullsh!! in order to stir up some of the more weak minded posters. It is a schtick. Fun for you I suppose. I could not care any less what you think or what you say, but if you think the Bengals go 6 - 10, you probably have not paid any attention to what this organization has done since Marvin came on board.I know Bengals fans and you sir are no Bengals fan.You conduct yourself much more like a Browns fan.I am extremely unimpressed.
