Are you Comfortable

BTW Rudi's hamstring that is bothering him is not the one was injured last year....

How comforting.

Are you really stressed about Rudi's injury?

He is still listed as the starting DT with Peko.

Well, things change. *crosses fingers*

I couldn't agree more. But we need a lot out of Sims and Shirley for Lewis to cut ties with Thorton. Marvin likes him for some stupid reason or other. We must be too stupid or ignorant to see all the contributions he makes to the defense.

This isn't a pissing contest.

Sure it is. This is the internet.

I've read snippets about Rudi having slight problems with the hamstring again, so holding him out of practice now has got to be a given. Whether the problem lingers is anyones guess, but we ARE talking about hamstrings, and that's sorta what they do, right?

It's exactly what they do... It will nag him all season long. That's normally what happens when you work your legs as much as Rudi. The muscles become to used to the "routine." When you get out on the field the muscles are used in a different way... Rudi could have actually worked his legs too much this off season.

I feel very comfortable going into this season. There's a LOT of talent here. If you go back and look at our #1 picks going back to 2003, David Pollack is the only guy missing.

You got Carson Palmer, Chris Perry, Jonathan Joseph, Leon Hall, and now Keith Rivers who is an absolute MONSTER. Add into the mix Ndukwe, White, Simpson or Caldwell, Whitworth, Andrews, Odom, Utecth, Geathers, Peko and the seasoned vets like Housh, Chad, Rudi, Dhani, Big Willie, Levi and even Deltha O'neal. This team is pretty stacked when it comes to skill players.

Guys like Sims and Shirley will need to step up. Also the Cardinal flunkies might be a god send. Defensively, up front is our major what if? We have to stop the run and get steady pressure on the QB, every down for every game. Pressure will make or break this team. Hopefully Zimmers scheme will be enough to overcome the lack of star players up front defensively.

Have you seen the guy play? He is as stiff as a board. Leverage is everything in the trenches and Shirley will get knocked around much worse than Thornton. There is no place in the NFL for guys who can't move their feet or for linemen who can't get under the other guys pads. The Bengals made a mistake by drafting him and I expect Marvin will correct that mistake.

I hope I am wrong, I would love the Bengals to have a 345 lb mauler at D-Line.

I haven't seen him play but I have not seen too many 5th rounders get sent off to the PS either, then he's a wasted draft pick. He'll stick on the 53 is my wild ass guess.

The position I'm most uncomfortable with is LB. Brooks is heading out of town and there is little depth at the spot. One injury away from serious problems again. I think this is where the Bengals could crash if Brooks doesn't get his game together.

RB is a big concern since the stars, Perry and Rudi have done nothing over the last 2 years, besides get older. Can they still play?

Secondary, DLine looks the best in years imho.

OLine and pass catchers looks the best in years imho.

Carson should have a fabulous year imho. I think he has the potential to lead the league in all QB categories this year. He's got the weapons, he's got a great line, he's healthy and fully recovered from his knee injury and he's got a defense that should get him the ball from time to time.

You guys crack me up. A running back that broke the team record for yards in two consecutive season just 2 years ago is old and washed up? Rudi was playing hurt almost the entire season last year behind a banged-up, ever changing O-line, and all of a sudden he is a has-been instead of a Pro-bowler? Do I need to name all the premiere running backs in the league that have had an injury plagued year and came back to form the next year? It happens all the time...

RB's hit the skids fast in the nfl. Short shelf life too. 2 years is a huge chunk of any RB's career. Remember the Rudi that took over for Dillon when he was banged up? Ran for 150, 175 yards, just tore it up.

Have we seen that Rudi in awhile? Shaun Alexander had all pro years, then within 2 years out of football.

Chris Perry with broken leg bones and whatever his ankle injury. Hasn't played in 2 years. You want to rely on that after Marvin and Mike Brown swore on reviving the run this year?

Are you really stressed about Rudi's injury?

I don't have enough information to be stressed OR relieved, and neither do you.

What I am is slightly concerned.

And mildly frustrated.

Frustrated that we're still discussing ongoing hamstring concerns, let alone fresh ones involving Rudi's OTHER leg.

Just saying....

Succinctly put.
