Adam-Whodey
http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/insider/new...mp;lid=tab5pos13. Cincinnati BengalsEven with all the offseason distractions revolving around WR Chad Johnson, the Bengals have a very talented receiving duo with Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. However, without Johnson, this ranking would be a lot lower. Johnson is an explosive playmaker who draws enough attention on the backend to open up the passing game and spacing for other players. He is an excellent route-runner with soft hands and the ability to attack all levels in the passing game. Houshmandzadeh is an exceptional second option who exploits one-on-one matchups in the short and intermediate areas. He is a very smart route-runner with excellent receiving skills and is a big-time threat in the red zone. Rookies Jerome Simpson, Andre Caldwell and Mario Urrutia will be counted on early to contribute. I was thinking about this and i think this is probably fair although i would take a "happy" Chad and TJ over Fitzgerald and Bolden. what does everyone else think? kevinc1129
I can't get to the site to see the other rankings (I think ESPN is down), but if they are ranking the Bengals lower than the Cards just because of an unhappy Chad, they need to rethink their rankings because Bolden isn't exactly thrilled right now either. We already know Chad does.

We already know Chad does.I see your point, HOWEVER, Boldin is scheduled to make approx 2.5 million this season, 2.75 next, and 3 million in 2010. Wouldnt you be pissed if you were Boldin, and Fitzgerald was making approx 4 times($10 million per) more than you were? Seriously, these 2 receivers production is pretty similar, so I cant see Fitzgerald being paid THAT much more than Boldin.
ArmyBengal
I'm sure they are talking strictly WR's, but the way I see it is, if you include the pass catching abilities of Utecht and Perry coming out the backfield, Carson is going to have plenty of weapons...WHODEY !!! Ox
It still makes me mad to see New England's recieving corps ranked number 1. As if Brady needs that good of a wide out lineup. a**h***s...

agreen_112
I would say that list is pretty accurate. Larry and Boldin would've been a close #1 pick for me... TJ, Chad and Palmer as a WR/QB group have so much more ability though. If they're perfect, these other tandems aren't even close.
derekshank
If Henry wasn't an idiot, I think you could have penciled the Bengals in at #1. There wouldn't have been a better #3 in the league. As it currently stands, the Browns and Colts probably have the best 3WR set. Which is probably why I would rate the Colts ahead of the Bengals still. The Browns don't have the #1 and #2 that the Bengals or Cardinals have... but the Colts are right there with them.

The Cardinals counter with Boldin, Fitzgerald and their rookie 3rd round pick out of LSU (who unprecedently signed a 3 year rookie contract) as their top three. From a depth standpoint, I would take 2 Pro-Bowlers, a 2nd round pick and a leading receiver on a National Championship team, over those guys. If Henry comes back, then forget it!
