JPW
From Bengals.com" Pro Bowl right tackle Willie Anderson has taken a good look at rookie Stacy Andrews for the past two days and likes what he sees out of the fourth-rounder from Mississippi that comes into the league with just about 70 college snaps. They’ve got him stationed at right tackle, so Anderson, who turns 29 in July, started laughing. “This guy is a beast. If they can get him to understand the football part, I guess I’m going to be the latest 31-year-old cap casualty,” he said. All kidding aside, Anderson is hugely impressed with the 6-6, 342-pound Andrews’ size and movement (“He ran a 4 damn 9 in the 40,”) and says it’s simply a matter of working on mechanics. “A guy like Paul is known for turning guys into starters and he’s turned guys with less ability than this guy into starters,” Anderson said. "Ok here is a Crazy thought.Andrews is Big, Quick, Agile, Athletic with Long arms and Good height.Oh did I mention Fast .....a 4.9 in the 40 for a guy who tips the scales 340 pounds WTF !You think that there is any way that they could teach this guy to play DE ?I know I know, I am just Tripping but what a BEAST of a DE that would be !It may take a year or two but I expect that we will have an outstanding OL in Andrews.A lot of good stuff over on the Bengals' site BTW.Looks like the team will be improved in most every area.Play Offs in 04..... Northwest Bengal
The one thing I question is why they aren't starting the guy out at guard!?! We have a 31 year old Pro Bowler at Right Tackle now, and he should be able to tack another 4 to 5 years onto his stellar career, so why not groom Andrews to work next to him for the time being, then slide him over when Anderson moves to the broadcasting booth? One of the recent bengals.com stories (I forget which one) addressed exactly that question, and the jist of the answer was that Andrews was so totally raw that they didn't want to overcomplicate things by trying to teach him the mechanics of two positions at the same time. The Brew Man
This is very exciting, hoping Andrews catches on quick and is a mainstay on our line for a long time.

jditty47
once andrews learns RT he will then can transition easier to RG but they need to teach him the position that is easiest for him first.
