Bengals coverage still stinks.

Well, the OTA has come and gone, but the coverage by the Enquirer and the team's official site still sucks out loud. After the first day-nothing. Were the practices closed in a shroud of paranoid secrecy? Why no news of the second and third days? Did Thurman ever show up? How did Chris Perry look? How about the new TE? How about the WRs who did show up? Bengals coverage still sucks.

The official website actually had pretty good coverage. They had articles regarding most of the areas that you had questions about however it is only May and this time of year is typically slow with NFL news. Even on the NFL site they have had the same stories for about 3 days now.

Maybe this is all a sign for us to get outside and enjoy the weather! ;)

As much as I'd like to have fellow Miami grad and Enquirer report Mark Curnutte's back, he horrible. He makes no bones about his belief that the blog is not his primary, or even secondary job. He writes for the Enquirer and that's it. He simply doesn't get how good engaging in his blog and giving us some nuggets outside of the paper would be for both him and his employer. He seems to think writing his infrequent and thin articles and nothing more will endear him to us. No.

I miss Goheen at the Post. He worked at his job.

Chill out. It's a bunch of guys runnning around in shorts with no contact. Nobody looks like anything yet.

Any rational adult with eyes and a laptop could have given us more than a story about a visit with Reggie Williams in the last week.

I am glad this has been brought up. I have brought it up before and been criticized. I write comments to Doc and Curnette daily about their inability to find out information. I do think they are good writers, just bad reporters. When Florio of profootball talk can get stories before these guys, you know they are not actually doing their job. As writers, they should be required to find out the stories instead of just waiting on others and then reporting it.

Curnette's blog is a joke. The guy posts stuff off of other websites and is almost a week late on even those postings. The enquirer needs a shake up with someone hungry for a story or at least willing to give the effort to attempt to find out the background. Daugherty recently wrote in his blog about the Odell release, and in it said that we may never find out the true reason. I agree that we may never find out and probably wont, but it is his job to attempt to find out which I doubt he has.

Regardless, both Curnette and Daugherty need some new blood to compete with on the stories. I like C Trent and the boys a homer but they use the enquirer for many of ther stories anyway.
