DDOGG
I think if we trade and move up in the draft, we could get a really good player for us. I seriously hope we make a trade with someone. I just don't see us helping ourselves at number nine. If we could get ahead of the Ravens, maybe number five, we could make an impact in the AFCN.Am I thinking straight? Would this be a very good move for the Bengals to make? Defender
I'd like to see them move down to mid to late 1st round and get a Calais Campbell or Kentwan Balmer, hopefully picking up something like a 2nd round pick for next year. kentjett
If Dorsey or Ellis drops to #5, we need to be all over it. We are definately leaning towards a 3-4 and we need a DT to play nose. Rucker and Fanene will play the ends and Peko will rotate in the middle and outside. If we can't move up than we should move down and get Balmer. Marvins conversations seem to be hinting a move to a 3-4 but if Gholston is still there at 9 we'll be forced to stick w/ a 4-3. JoePong
I don't think we are leaning towards a 3-4 at all. I will go on record and state there is no chance in hell that we will.

The team has a 3-4 defensive coordinator, a 3-4 LB's coach, and they are letting their 4-3 defensive end walk. Not to mention the defensive coordinator has already gone on the record as saying he likes big, strong LB's. Coincidently, he followed that up with saying how big, strong LB's are what is needed to run a 3-4, go figure. It's admirable to watch someone stick to their guns...but eventually admirable just turns to dumb.
HoosierCat
Right now, I'd say the Bengals' defensive personnel are definitely leaning toward the 3-4. The two purest 4-3 guys, Justin and Landon, both look like they're leaving. Pay no attention to the recent spate of "we could still re-sign Justin" stories -- not only is he going to get more coin than the Bengals will be willing to pay (and probably rightly so) but I don't believe he is interested in staying. And what does it say that they made the same offer to Landon as the did to...Dhani Jones? That said, the 3-4 is hardly a done deal. Pick up, for example, Keith Rivers in the first and Lawrence Jackson in the second and it's 4-3 ho! OTOH if Gholston falls (unlikely) or Ellis drops (possible...there are some whispers about a knee owie coming out of Indy), suddenly the 3-4 looks a lot more attractive.
