Shaun Rogers would look good as a Bengal

I think this is the type of player that we should take a gamble on. He has the potential to dominate a game from the middle and free up our LB's. He does have an attitude but that could be a good thing if coached right. Does anybody know what his contract is like and if we could make it work. I know it is wishful thinking but we need something on D to give us an identity and he could be that type of player.

Shaun Rodgers is already a part of the league substance abuse program far enough to have received a 4 game suspension. No thanks! I know it was for steroids, but with all his other off the field problems including an assault charge on a stripper, it wouldn't be a good move for an already criticized organization

Plus the guy only plays about the half the snaps. Or maybe it just seems like it. I know he's built for comfort as DTs are but he's just flat out not in playing shape. Lions fans won't shed too many tears if he leaves. Of course Millen will most likely sign him to a 30 year $1.5 billion contract soon. Whenever I think of the woes we sometimes suffer, I just think of the Lions.

He was suspended for taking a dietary supplement and he is a force in the middle. He does take plays off but every DT his size does the same and the team works around it by subbing quite a bit. It would be a gamble but he is arguably the best DT in the game when he wants to be. A lot of people will disagree w/ me but there is only 1 or 2 players that are as gifted as he is in the DT position. There is not very many 360 lb men that can gets sacks as frequent as he does and run a interception 70 yards for a TD. I also seen him do a somersault after getting a sack, he is not your typical 400lb guy.

Every player that gets busted for steroids blames it on an over-the-counter "supplement." Don't forget his legal troubles too and how hard Goddell comes down on Bengals who get in trouble...not a good fit

We can keep signing insignificant Fa's and stay in the middle of the pack or we can take a chance and get a playmaker that can completely turn around a defense. We all know that we will sign the no name and be middle of the pack. That is why I like the offseason, their is always the chance of us doing something that will make a difference. Haynesworth, Rogers, Dansby & Rogers are the only players that are available that will make us a lot better. There are a couple players that will make us a little better like Boss Bailey but we need a big name to bring an attitude and a identity.

I would do a back flip if they signed Haynesworth but he is going to get the franchise tag. I also love Dansby with the team looking towards going to a 3-4, but he might get the franchise tag too. I would defintely not see the Bengals trading for Rogers given the amount that is left on his contract with 3 years and the final year being for 7 million.
