CarsonCity
Okay. Deltha said it to the media. Now what does Marvin do about having his decisions whined about in the press? Will it be nothing, or have a private little talk with Mr. O"Neal and threaten to put a boot in his ass if he doesn't like it. I prefer the latter, but knowing Marvin, it'll be nothing. Not that I necessarily disagree with you on the tactics, BB, but how would one ever know whether or not Marvin did do this, or (IMO more importantly) has done it in the past? I mean Marvin could meet with him behind closed doors, give him the proverbial boot up his ass, and the player in question could still leave Hines Ward wide open in the end zone. Yet if that were to happen, you would claim Marvin simply hasn't put a boot in somone's ass like they should have, right?Look, my point isn't to rip into you. It's not to convince you that things are hunky dorry in Cincy right now. And my point certainly isn't that Marvin and the coaching staff aren't to blame. They are. For a lot. But you seem to crucify them as the only culprits. I've watched countless times Bengals players being in position to make a play and simply mis-executing (i.e. missed tackles, dropped passes, etc.). At what point do you stop placing total blame on Marvin (and M. Brown), and start shoveling it to the ones who make the plays on the field? HoTbOy
When he was the starter he played half assed, he only gets fired up to play after watching from the bench...If JJoe or LHall don't get hurt, DOneal will be enjoying the view from the sideline... ArmyBengal
JJ was hurt to start the season with that broken foot crap and has still suffered from it since coming back, but I still think he and Hall stick as the starters minus injuries... I like the looks of that...WHODEY !!!!

If these Bengal players are indeed prone to "countless" mental lapses which lead to mistakes and making bad plays of what ever kind, I would then have to ask myself "why is this bum here?" which brings me right back to Mike Brown, Marvin Lewis, and their staffs. Now as far as me crucifying these two as the only culprits, you're right. I do. I also know they are not to blame for every single issue facing the team right now, but because of the leadership positions they hold in the organization it's up to them to right the ship in the quickest manner possible, and IMHO this ship is floundering a bit worse after every game! (Of course because of the way this season has been junk since early on, these two leaders might not be trying to right this ship so Cincinnati's position in the draft would be improved, but to be honest, I couldn't type that with a straight face. )In fact I don't see any way in hell this Bengals team that got whipped by the 'Niners tonight has any hope at all of beating the Browns next week, and beyond that to the Miami game, if the Dolphins are still "O-fer" the season by time the Bengals have to travel there, I don't like our odds in that one either. House cleaning time has come early boys, so let's "Git-R-Done" and get at least Chuck Bresnahan gone if not uber predictable Bratkowski too
