Chad Johnson, Peter Warrick, Kelly Washington are the big 3. After them its Patrick Johnson and Maurice Mann who are new comers, they should both stick. Last year we kept 5 so that could be all we keep, but we will probably go with six this year so Housh, Walter and free agents Adam Zeisel, , Jamall Broussard, Jeremiah Cockheran, Lance Young, and Marlus Mays. I say Houshmanzadeh is all but gone unless he plays really well. Cockheran is probably the best out of the undrafted free agent crowd, and he is known as a great special teams player. So I say Cockheran is my pick for 6th reciever.

Cockheran was timed at 4.29. Man that's flying!

I like all the speed and deep threats in Johnson, Mann, and Cockheran plus the kick return potential.

CHAD, Warrick, Washington, P Johnson, Mann, and Cockheran are my six.

they are both small i think that is why cockheran wasnt drafted...and hes my 6th player as well. I am DEFINATELY loving the speed!!!! :player:

Lance Young from Iowa State who returned 47 kicks for 21.2 avg.

I tried to find where I saw Cockheran with 4.29 but could only find 4.44 with a 37.5 vertical.

Still fast but maybe don't get too excited by him just yet!

But yeah that overall speed will open up other parts of the field.

I'd like to see Schobel catch 50 balls this year.

I dont know, there is just something I like about Walter. He can be a great possession type receiver for us and contribute on special teams. He reminds me of Ed McCaffery...

I want to see what the other guys do. I think return skills may not help them as much as it would have last year. We now have Warrick, P. Johnson, Mann, Ratliff, Watson who can all return Cockeran, Housh and Young's return skills shouldnt realyl give them a huge advantage. And Mann is a freakish athlete that is why he was drafted in the 5th round. Cockeran apparently has a case of the drops now and again, but I think for the 6th reciever your really not as concerned with recieving skills(which despite occasional skills he does have) as you are with potential, and special teams, I saw that 4.29 speed as well and if the man can run that down a field on special teams I think he belongs in the league.

Yeah, I think it's time the TE's had more of an impact. I'd like to see them used more during a game.

Don't forget about Deltha O'Neal ! he's returned 3 or 4 kick/punts back for touchdowns.

But Really, the Wide Receivers should look like

1. Chad Johnson

2. Peter Warrick

3. Kelley Washington

4. Maurice Mann

5. Kevin Walter

6. Patrick Johnson

Here's the info about Maurice Mann- http://www.nflfans.com/draft/2004/showplay...php?key=Maurice Mann

That's of course if we keep 6, which I think Marvin hinted to last month.

If we are still looking for that "speed" receiver, look no further than Big Craig Yeast. God, he made Akili look like the star of that draft. I am happy with our guys and can't wait to see what Palmer can do with them.

I do not think that Houshmanzadeh will be here next season, and as for this Cockheran, I do not think that they will keep him over Walter. We have enough speed guys...Walter has one year under his belt and I think he can really contribute to this team as a receiver and on specials...Remember he was a draft choice of the New York Giants last year...

Does anybody see the possibility of letting Peter Warrick go? I think his contract is up either this year or next. With Chad emerging as the primary receiver, Kelly Washington's development and some of the new young fast guys, does anyone see P Dub being a cap casualty or being traded for draft picks? Just a thought.

TJ will be on the team because he just signed the tender. Why would the Bengals allow this to happen if they had no intentions of keeping him knowing the stockpile of receivers that will probably not make it past the draft? Seems to me that would be a waste of money and cap space.

1. Chad

2. P-Dub

3. Washington

4. P.Johnson

5. TJ

6. Walter

not this year. if other receivers outplay him this year, though, it seems possible.

Signing him to the tender won't count against the cap if they release him, and you don't want to not sign a RFA to a tender, you never know when another team will be willing to give up a draft pick, so even if the team knows he's gonna not gonna make it past august they get an offer. Besides, all the WR's this year could have fallen wrong and the team may not have ended up with any, he's insurance, but TJ won't make the final cut....

No way do they just let Warrick go, makes zero sense....Trade him maybe for the right offer. But you don't get rid of the 2nd best reciever on the team when you have a rookie QB. He may leave, hey may not, but he's gonna try to command a high price and if he think she should get paid like a first round draft pick, well he's crazy, but if he expecs to be paid like a #2 reciever then he may well end up staying in stripes, but I think Marvin is looking at the fact he may not be here in the long run and has lined up cheap replacements....

No way Warrick goes this year. No one else can run the routes he runs with the control he has. Carson will appreciate the reliability.

Regardless who is the 5th and 6th receiver, the 3rd down back is more problematic. Bennett was great there.

Also, Cockheran didn't retun kicks for Hawaii last year, but he did catch 61 balls for a 16.3 avg -- way more prolofic than the rest of the incoming receivers.

3rd down back? It's got Perry written all over it...He'll put Bennett to shame, not that it would take much.

Cockheran played in the pass happy offense of Hawaii, so those numbers are kinda par for the course.
