ntpou
My favorite pick was M.Askew I read he was going to be a 1st if he stayed in school & has good size 6'5 308. Plays DE also. Known for being a RUN STOPPER :player:
chrishcovga
I can't really say who our best pick was yet, because they haven't played. But the guy with the most potential has to be Stacy Andrews. His size, and athleticism will be groomed to take over Big Willie in the future.I liked Askew a close second, but he's still a "tweener". I want to see him either lose 15 lbs. and move to Strong side DE, or stay at his weight and play the"3" on our front 4. Either way he probably won't deliver till a year or 2.Guys I liked that I wanted but felt they were drafted out of position....Ratliff,Williams,Miller. Jungle_Fever
Dont know if you guys got to see Ratliff on TV but the guy was genuinely excited about being a Bengal. Got to love that attitude

BENGALBUCKEYES
IF ANDREW IS ATHLETIC AND FAST 4.96 IN THE 40 AND 340 POUNDS WHY NOT MAKE A NT OUT OF HIM SINCE HE IS SO RAW TO FOOTBALL ANYWAYS
Bourgeois_Rage
Cause Marvin doesn't like the 3-4 defense.

JPW
Look I find it a bit depressing when I hear it said of a first day pick, "can help on special teams" or "can maybe be a nickle back".What I like to see from a draft is, at least, one or two players who have the "potential" to become a Stars in the NFL.Players in whom you can have a realistically Hope, that they "could" one day become Pro-Bowl or near Pro-Bowl players.Of course the draft is always a gamble, and there are exceptions. But I believe that you will find, that a large percentage of Pro-Bowlers were 1st day draft picks. And were highly rated going into the draft.I believe that some of our 1st day picks will become solid starters. And over all will be an upgrade for the team. But it is hard to see much "star" material there. My favorite Picks:Matthias Askew DT:They say that he would have been a high 1st Round Pick if he had waited a year.May not be the super run-snuffer of a Vince Wilfork or Marcus Tubbs but he Can Play the run and is faster than either of those two.Plus he can play anywhere on the line and is much less likely to become a "fat-ass-can't-get-down-in-a-stance" type.He has as much upside as ANY DL still on the boards after round two. This guy could become an Outstanding DL in the NFL.Was a STEAL in round four.Stacy Andrews OTHas played very little Football but has all the "tools".It will most likely take a lot of work and some time but once again you can see at least the "potential" for him to become outstanding.I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being better than his brother in the long run.Another Great Pick in the 4th round. jditty47
JPW is like any mock draft expert and is upset when his players are passed up for players he has rated lower and is happy when they get picked up later as steals. My favorite pickup might be Williams because he will have to cover not only Heap but Winslow now and can go stride for stride with them and can lay a fool out as well. I like all of the picks besides the qb in the 7th, but like it matters...like hes even gonna suit up.
Tiger Stripes
We dont need stars to play football we need solid players and i think we got some. Also it seems like the excitement on the upcoming season has been drawn out of some of you. I think these picks will suprise everyone as well as our pickups from free agency. In the words of Chad Johnson "We will make the playoffs I gurantee it." :player:
Bengals44
I think once Madieu Willams wins a starting role, he will remind us a lot of Darryl Willams (not sure if I spelled Darryl right), who was very underrated in his Bengal years... A play-maker who both has coverage skills and does not mind to hit...
JPW
We don't need stars to play Football ?Does that mean we don't need guys like Willie Anderson and Chad Johnson on the team ?Do you mean that we shouldn't be hopeing that Carson Palmer will become the star that all the "experts" think he has the "potential" to be ?Yea, you want your team to be solid at every position, but it sure doesn't hurt to have some truely outstanding players.Who has lost their excitement for the up coming season ?Between FA and the Draft, ML has added speed, filled holes, built depth and IMO picked up at least a few players who could turn out to be stars.Of course all of this has to translate to their play on the feild. But I can't think of one position where the team is real weak.So I'll keep ending my posts just like I have been. Can you Say PLAY OFFS in 04 !BTW if Madieu ends up playing like Darryl (and I sure hope that he does) that would make him a star in my book. CJBestInAFC
I like the Silent Assasin. How can you not like this game he took 7 guys out of games. And has the name Johnson. How can you go wrong there.
Jungle_Fever
For where we picked them, I like Askew, Andrews and Williams. I think Perry will contribute but I dont like him at #1.

Lakers, Mavericks and Yankees yeah, but no go hea. However, you DO need stars at a few positions....someone the fans can gravitate to, and plus team popularity, jersey sales, etc.I know what you mean though, FOotball is the ultimate team sport, I would rather have a solid B in all aspects than a A+ D player and C- or D player to compensate, ala the Colts (thats my squad since Capt. Comeback, besides, like my boy said, every true Bengal fan HAD to have another team to root for...)Off the topic, I think youre both right, but in today's modern NFL, you want a few stars on your team, to sway the on the fence, fair weather fans...ya know?you both have good points
