Leslie Frazier is the defensize coordinator for the Vikings this year.

After 4 games they are 18th in overall defense but are only giving up 14.8 pts per game (compared to our 30th overall and 32.3 points per game)

This year he has a former OC for a head coach who is letting him coach the aggresive style of defense he believes in.

So when he was here do you think it was the personnel, the head coach forcing him to use his scheme, the other assistant defensive coaches, or something else that caused the defense to play poorly?

A few points. Frazier inherited the NFL's 8th ranked defense.....now currently ranked 18th. This ranking reflects Frazier's unit surrending an avergae of nearly 30 yards more per game. In addition, this seasons average of 20 first downs surrendered is three more than last years unit allowed. To be fair, a dramatic improvement has been made in average points surrendered per game, but we're talking about a small four game sample that is largely due to improvement in the Viking offense, specifically the running game.
