walzav29
I thought this kept someone off of the team for the 1st 6 weeks. Why would Pollack be on that and not IR? Is Chris Perry coming back this season? Does the Bye week count for Chris Henry's 8 week suspension? If it does he will be back for the Steeler game. Riagogogoindanati
I think Henry has an 8 GAME susp, not 8 WEEK.http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/story?id=3197016&page=1Henry is permitted to work out at the Bengals' facilities in the offseason and participate in training camp, including preseason games. He won't be allowed to practice with the team when the regular season begins. He will be reinstated after the eighth game if he stays out of trouble. Riagogogoindanati
or try this one...http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2832015The two players are suspended without pay, the NFL announced. Jones will lose $1,292,500 -- his 2007 base salary -- as a result of the suspension. Henry will lose $204,705.88 in salary if the Bengals' bye week comes after Week 8. He will lose $230,294.12 if the Bengals' bye week falls in the first eight weeks of the season, meaning he will miss nine weeks of pay. After they serve their suspensions, each player must apply for reinstatement. Just don't get your hopes up he will be active right away because of that old tried and true "game shape" issue.
Riagogogoindanati
Yeah.....I wonder how long it takes to "apply" for reinstatement and actually getting reinstated????????????And another thing.........He may not be able to work out at the facility.......but, I would imagine he's keeping his conditioning up.....maybe not game time condition, but I doubt he's sitting on the couch eating McD's and rollig up a phatty. (sorry....had to throw that one in there.)
agreen_112
The reason Pollack was placed on the PUP was because there actually is a chance that he could come back, according to Marv. There was another reason too, but I can't remember off the top of my head, it had something to do with the roster.
skyline
If I remember correctly, Perry was NOT put on PUP, correct? There was the feeling that he might be back before week 6.As for Henry, the bottom line is that you shouldn't count on him any time this season. Best case scenario is that he will be reinstated immediately, and back playing for us as soon as the suspension is up. Realistically, we saw what happened with Odell, and there's no reason to be confident that it won't happen again. I certainly hope he'll be back, but hope is about the strongest word I'm willing to use at this point.
CJBestInAFC
According to the Bengals website Perry is on the Pup list.

agreen_112
Next year what do the Bengals do with both Irons and Perry????? How many years left on Perry's contract???Could you imagine a Healthy Perry and Irons? That could be a dynamic duo right there! I'd keep them both then cut the rest of the scrubs. Rudi, Irons, Perry, Watson would've been real nice... How do we rid this damn curse?
TJJackson
imagine a Healthy PerryKinda like bigfoot - lots of people make claims, but there's no real evidence such a thing could ever be true
WhoDey93285
Just a quick question here: Does the NFL even have to reinstate Henry? What if God-ell decides he doesn't want to?

oldschooler
I thought this kept someone off of the team for the 1st 6 weeks. Why would Pollack be on that and not IR?Read this article, it explains it pretty good . . . http://news.cincypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../708300312/1022Is Chris Perry coming back this season?Word on the street is that he was healthy enough to start the seasonon the 53 man roster. He just wasn`t in game shape. And theBengals figured it was best to give him the extra time to be 100% healthy, and get in game shape. The Bengals put him on PUP so they could put other injured players like Jeanty, and Kilmer on the roster. Neither ofthem could be PUP`d. So their only options with them were to putthem on IR, cut them, or do what they are doing with them now.Does the Bye week count for Chris Henry's 8 week suspension? If it does he will be back for the Steeler game.No. He was suspended for 8 games, not 8 weeks. Also, he isn`t allowed to practice with the team, but he is allowedto attend team meetings and work out at team facilities, duringhis suspension. I think he will be ready to go as soon as heis reinstated.
