Ickey44 Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 I don't for the life of me understand why you don't go with what worked last week. We consistantly rushed four guys the whole game and dropped seven into zone coverage and even a mediocre QB like Anderson can pick that apart. WTF was this idiot thinking. I agree. Someone else needs to start calling the defensive plays cause Chuckie's too dumb to realize not to fix what ain't broken. Quote
CarsonCity Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 What happened to the blitzing, he went back to zone coverage and DAnderson picked them apartThey didn't seem to blitz as much as last week, but I still saw quite a few plays where they brought pressure. The problem was that it was picked up nearly every time. Or it was simply called at the wrong time - the blitz was on but the Clowns would run the ball to the other side, negating the pressure. The Bengals really need to get Brooks back and healthy - his size and athleticism make him a great option to blitz with. Quote
GregCook Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 I don't care if i'm chicken little I know its also the fault of the players but for god sakes fire chuck. In 2005 The Bengals gave up 37 points twice and 45 points once.In 2006 The Bengals gave up 38 points, 49 points and 34 points. In 2007 The Bengals gave up 51 points and ...... Based upon history this team's Defense will disappoint those of us who thought the D had improved this year. I'm not ready to write their obituary quite yet, but they are fitting a ugly pattern so damn early in the season. Quote
gregstephens Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 I'm on the bandwagon on this one...Chuck has to go. It isn't the players. The players keep changing, but the results are the same. That means one thing...the system isn't working. Quote

That means one thing...the system isn't working.Funny part is, The HC has his guy in house right now that he wanted and the bengal fans wanted when Marv was first hired. He's working behind the sences way behind the scenes. Does the HC coach have it in him to make the change. I think Chuck needed to go two years ago but who the HC wanted was a DC somewhere else. Now he has him in the background with a very small role, bring him to the front. Can we say a good old Baltimore connection on Defense that is as Firery as they come. Make a change. Quote
kingwilly Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 That is it, that is enough.Bres must go. F the idea that the players made mistakes...not in such a repeated fashion and to the tune of 51 pts. I am not buying it. F the idea that it is just an "aberration", not when the DB's made Braylon look like an All-Pro and Derek freaking Anderson look like Joe Montana. This rests on Bres and his absolute inability to do the following:1. Prepare for and look ready to play one of the worst offenses in the NFL.2. Limit a QB with like 3 or 4 starts.3. Develop a scheme that gets any pressure on the QB.and last,4. Figure out how to adjust or improve said joke scheme during the half....MARVIN, FIRE BRES NOW....or risk being the one getting axed if this continues. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Will he be fired ?? Probably not, but this is beyond unacceptable. There is no way this can be tolerated year in and year out. Does Marvin have a share in all of this ?? Yes, but Bresnahandjob is obviously NOT the answer !!! I still don't see how you can consistently be PATHETIC at what you do and still have a job. Here's to hoping Carson kicks the sh*t out of Chucky !!!F*CK BRESNAHAN !!!WHODEY !!! Quote

Can you say 3-4 defense with the fire like the ravens, the NY Jets but of course not Detroit that was that Tampa 2. You have the guy now but behind the scenes. Quote
