agreen_112
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3003699I agree, Coughlin has no control, that's why the Giants are the biggest underachievers of last year next to the Bengals. Bobcat Bengal
Man, talking about throwing his teammates under the bus. It's akin to getting pinched, serving your time, and then after you've been release, talk about your co-defendants and how they royally f**ked you over. You woulda gotten away to rob more banks if only your gang didn't continously f**k up. skyline
Tiki is really starting to grate on my nerves, and I agree that he's throwing everyone under the bus to a degree. On the other hand, looking at Tiki's behavior since the beginning of last season, it's been absolutely brilliant from a business perspective. He knows his new career depends entirely on publicity, and he's made sure that he'll get plenty of it. I think there are better ways to get the results that he wants, but it is what it is, I guess. Bobcat Bengal
He neglects to mention how Coach Coughlin helped him reduce his case of fumble-itis.
The PatternMaster
The Giants are/were filled the most selfish, me-first guys not named Chad Johnson. Between the qb having his daddy decides who drafts him, to the TE who can't play 16 games constantly popping off at the lip, to the DE who doesn't know if he wants to play football or lay up with the former Mrs. Eddie Murphy, to the rb who announces his retirement in week 8 and then constantly talks sh!t about the team as soon as the last game is finished. Tiki needs to shut up already, this is the 4th or 5th negative thing he has had to say about the Giants since he left. Plus if you look at his numbers while Coughlin was the coach you would see that he had his best years, so why is he complaining. Tiki Barber looks like Steve Eurkel on HGH!! HoosierCat
All I know is that I can't stand either Tiki or Bettis. My bet is both will be out the door within a few years.
James_Brooks21
All I know is that I can't stand either Tiki or Bettis. My bet is both will be out the door within a few years.I can't stand Tiki either, it's all about him 24hours a day. Bettis I don't think he brings anything to commentating on that show, he was only hired because he was the feel good story at the time. I would take Jamie Dukes on NFL ACCESS over any of those guys, what he says actually makes sense. Bettis your 15 minutes of fame is over, hurry up and disappear. I knew Tiki was a fake as hell when he said how much he admires Matt Lauer, are you freaking kidding me yes Matt Lauer is paid but he really does not have a personality he's stale and presents his self as one of those guys that does not watch sports at all (dweeb). agreen_112
He neglects to mention how Coach Coughlin helped him reduce his case of fumble-itis.actually, I believe he did mention that in the article up top. He said coach helped me with fumbling and I help coach keep a job, he reffered to it as a double-edge sword. Tiki's a clown and he's going to end up the bad guy in this situation. No one likes someone who bad mouths his former team.

He said coach helped me with fumbling and I help coach keep a job, he reffered to it as a double-edge sword.I missed the 'helped coach keep a job' part when he was busy tossing the guy under the bus even last year, and badmouthing him now in his book and on TV. He needs to be grateful - without Coughlin, right now Tiki would just be another former running back with slippery hands.Tiki's a clown and he's going to end up the bad guy in this situation. No one likes someone who bad mouths his former team.Yup. And it will hurt him long term as a reporter because players aren't going to want to talk to a 'rat.' So he won't get crap for interviews. He comes off as a jackass who thinks he's a lot smarter than he actually is, and a total know-it-all.

Hearing this kind of crap makes you want to throw him a beating !!!WHODEY !!!You know it does sound terrible, and the fact that this isn't the first bad thing he said about the team makes it even worse in everyone's eyes. But, he does kinda have a point, Coughlin has been terrible the last couple of years and I've fealt the same way about the Giants coaching. Coughlin should've been fired already, I don't understand why he still has a job there. But then again, why wouldn't Tiki call him out while he was still a Giant? He makes is sound almost like he still wants to play. Surely Tiki wasn't the only one in the clubhouse to feel this way about the coaching. As for other players...there were grumbles when Coughlin first joined, but for the most part that evaporated after his first camp. Remember he fined players for not being 5 minutes early to meetings? But that's old news. Lately, I haven't heard anything that suggests players are more unhappy with him than would be considered normal. I'm not a Coughlin fan by any means, but I can't really lay the blame for NY's problems on him.But then again, why wouldn't Tiki call him out while he was still a Giant? They respect him as a coach because he demands that they do so. However his heavy handed style would work better in high school than the NFL were it's more about managing egos than anything else. Coughlin is far from being the source of the problems for the Giants, Eli needs to play well for a consistant period, his wr's need to work out with Eli during the offseason, the defense needs interior d-line help, etc.. They have a new GM in Jerry Reese who seems like a capable man so give him a few years and a new HC, Coughlin is not his guy. As for Tiki though he is going head first into his role as the "media", but he shouldn't use his former team as is crutch. He should stand on talents as a analyst, not telling every bad thing you know or heard while he was a member of the Giants.

Look, I know the team needs leaders to step up, preferably the QB but if things were the way Tiki says they were on-field and in the clubhouse, that to me tells me that Coughlin lacks control and leadership of this team. It's not like Tiki's making up lies, he's giving his opinion. I don't agree with the way he's handled the situation for his own benefit, but his opinion has to have a little value. It all comes down to the head coach, he's the one on the edge, not the franchise QB. Eli's among the top 10 QB's in the league IMO. IF he has a better coach and can step up and lead this offense, the Giants are nothing less than a playoff team.
DC_Bengals_Fan
Who calls the plays? Coughlin?Who runs the plays? Eli?if things were the way Tiki says they were on-field and in the clubhouse, that to me tells me that Coughlin lacks control and leadership of this teamThat's begging the question. Tiki's already on record as stating he doesn't like Coughlin, and has been for some time. Tiki's also an ass. I don't care how bad the coach does, you don't question his playcalling after a loss. You don't do it. So that establishes Tiki in my mind. ...but his opinion has to have a little value. Why? What bearing does it have on how anyone else not named Tiki feels about the coach? More importantly, what does Tiki's opinion of the coach have to do with the coach's ability?Eli's among the top 10 QB's in the league IMO. IF he has a better coach and can step up and lead this offense, the Giants are nothing less than a playoff team. What facts have convinced you Eli isn't a *bottom* 10 QB? He's not particularly accurate, doesn't have the same abilities as his brother. If his name weren't Manning, he'd have been a 2nd round pick. Riagogogoindanati
I have always thought Tiki (and his brother) are a little on the cute/hot side. But he DID NOT look good last night sitting next to long neck Collinsworth. No Neck Tiki, All Neck Chris.
