walzav29 Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 He seems like he'd knock you out. I hope that's the case. I'm curious how he'll play when he actually knows what he's doing. It's all on the D this year. They have to get in the teens. Quote

I really wish this guy (Brooks) can make me forget about how good Thurman was.I really think he will. He was very inconsistent when given the chance to play last year, but that experience is going to do wonders for him. He may not make us forget about Thurman, but I think he'll be a playmaker. Quote
cincy9275 Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 i hope he plays like that we need some attitude on the field. that why i am pull for hartwell to start if he can earn it. hartwell's attitude and mouth would be nice to have on the field. Quote

skyline Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Watching Brooks' interview on bengals.com he talks about the biggest thing they miss from Odell is the passion he brought to the field, and I have to agree. With Jackson, Hartwell, and Hopefully Brooks as well, though, it looks as if we may start to get some of that '05 swagger back. HoosierCat Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Curnutte dropped this tidbit in his blog post about this morning's practice...The other player the defense needs to have, middle linebacker Ahmad Brooks, continues to impress. He had what would have been a sack on a blitz and blew up a running play to the left by beating his blocker to the hole. Brooks has the opportunity to be a great NFL player. He also noted that so far Deltha appears to have come to play this year -- and with Joseph still nursing a foot owie and Hall still unsigned, that's good news. bengal4life Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Also on bengals.com Hobson said the Brooks at 270 ran a 4.6 40 in the spring. That is some freakish numbers. I like reading that he watches a lot of LB's in the league. I think it will take some time for him to take on head roll considering he's not a vocal leader like OT was. If he's anything like Palmer, his play on the field will show he's a leader. I was watching some video of practice and Oneal looks pretty damn good. I saw him break up two passes one of them was on Housh.LETS GO D. Quote
