Dunn hit an RBI single in the first inning and a three-run home run to center field in the second. Brandon Phillips made it back-to-back homers in the second with a solo shot to right-center field. Phillips was 3-for-4 and was a triple short of hitting for the cycle. In his spring debut, Ken Griffey Jr. was 2-for-4 with a seventh-inning double. Competing for a reserve catcher spot, Chad Moeller hit a solo homer in the eighth. Phillies at the plate: Ryan Howard was 0-for-3 on the day and is hitting .224 this spring. Philadelphia notched six hits in the game -- all singles. Reds on the mound: Bronson Arroyo had a smooth six innings. Arroyo allowed five hits and walked one while striking out six. He had runners on first and third with one out in the first and escaped with two strikeouts. Victor Santos pitched one inning, and Dustin Hermanson closed the game, allowing one infield hit in the ninth. Phillies on the mound: Starter Adam Eaton gave up five earned runs and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. Eaton issued three walks and struck out three while giving up a pair of home runs. Clay Condrey was perfect in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Grapefruit League records: Reds 15-7; Phillies 8-15. Up next: The Reds will travel to Dunedin, Fla., on Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. ET meeting with the Blue Jays. kentjett Posted March 25, 2007 Report Share Posted March 25, 2007 Dunn is looking good. The new hitting coach is doing something right. His strikeouts are down and he is putting the ball in play.
