fattyjay Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Realistically speaking we can forget abou Thomas, Clements, Graham, or any other high priced pipe dream of an FA. The guys we should be talking about are the classic second-tier FA's that add depth to or stabilize a certain position. So with that in mind here are some names that i think are possibilities: Tommy PolleyDeon GrantKen HamlinJoey Porter (borderline)any C/G backup Quote

Would be entertaining at least. Quote
BlainThePain Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I'd like to see Brad Johnson brought in as the backup QB. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Bengals wont pursue Grant, or Hamlin for that matter. They will wont more than $1 million and that is too expensive for the Bengals because we have no money to spend Quote

The Bengals are going no where fast if they try to pull that no money bullcrap. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Well Montae Reagor was released by the Colts. Now this is a player the Bengals will pursue because he is old and past his prime. And we will overpay for him. Unfourtnaley I expect him to be a Bengal. Quote

He's probably got a couple years left. And he'd be an upgrade over Robinson. Hardly a top-tier signing but if the Bengals landed him they would be (a bit) better. Quote
WhoDey93285 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I might get blasted for this, but...I would absolutely love to see Joey Porter in Orange and Black. I know he's an idiot, a Steeler, and loves to run his mouth. But, he'd bring a much needed pass rush to our defense and an attitude to our defense that we sorely need. How many times do we see the quarterback just stand back in the pocket for 10 seconds while the recievers tear our defense to shreds? And he would give our defense a "swagger".Plus, on the "fun" side of things, it would add to an already great rivalry between the Squeelers and Bengals. It would definately make things more interesting. Quote

It would definately make things more interesting. As much as I hate him as well I agree. Our defense has no identity and Porter will have intense hatred for the Steelers (something we all share). He seems pretty bitter about all of this. Our defense needs a face/identity and an attitude. Having someone like him that has come from successful defenses and a SB team couldn't hurt us and would provide veteran leadership for Brooks/Jeanty/Odell/Nicholson.I'm still iffy on LB FA's. We missed on Hartwell/Bell/Sharper and in hindsight I'm glad we did... Quote
