Posted February 16, 2007 Report Share Posted February 16, 2007 Nuxhall hospitalized with recurrence of lymphomaCINCINNATI -- Joe Nuxhall's son says the former Cincinnati Reds pitcher and broadcaster is doing well at a hospital in Florida. Kim Nuxhall says his father is undergoing tests for a recurrence of lymphoma, which was first diagnosed in 2003. Joe Nuxhall is 78. His career with the Reds on the field and in the broadcast booth spanned 60 years. Nuxhall was in Sarasota for the start of spring training when the lymphoma was discovered during previously scheduled tests. Nuxhall became the youngest player in major league history in June 1944 when, at 15 years, 10 months and 11 days, he pitched two-thirds of an inning for the Reds in an 18-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.Hang in there Joe, Praying for ya Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
