oldschooler Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 He didn`t report to their training camp. This is from Febuary 7th...Marquee attractionsPeter Warrick, the underachieving former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver whom the Gladiators were counting on to fill some seats at the Orleans Arena, was placed on the Did Not Report (to arena football training camp) list Monday, reportedly because he will sign a free-agent contract with an undisclosed NFL team. Or maybe it's because he is still learning how to spell "Houshmandzadeh" as in T.J., the overachieving Bengals wide receiver who took his place. http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/.../566667946.html Quote
Stripes Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 "Underachieving" is a poor word choice for Warrick. "Not good enough" or "injury proned" is more acurrate. Quote

Back during the draft he was compared to guys like Desmond Howard or even Rocket Ismael. Would his collegiate skills translate to the NFL? Was it worth the risk by the team that drafted him? Looking back I would say no.Unfortunately he never completely fulfilled the expectations but he did have a good season in 2003 before he hurt his knee. His game against the Chiefs was a great performance and gave the team and Marvin some legitimacy after the 2-14 debacle the year before. Quote
