walzav29 Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I just can't see it happening. Not just a matter of him being back, but with the potential that he had before. He's out of my mind, but I was wondering if anyone had hope. Quote
Kazkal Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Well if doctors have hope and pollack wants to return then I do.I'm cool with what ever he decides. Quote

Whur CHad At? Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I hope he makes the right choice. I mean he is a good player, and it would be awesome if he came back...but he has to think about his life here. It could happen again, and he could risk being paraylized or even death. Quote
Stripes Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I think he'll be back by 2008 at least, but I agree that he'll never make the impact he was drafted to make. Quote
HairOnFire Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Based upon the statements made by his doctors there doesn't seem to be any reason he shouldn't be able to come back. So yeah, I've still got hope. Quote
Kazkal Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Why won't he be the same player if he comes back from injury ,if the Doctors are right and theres no difference between him now and pre injury how will that effect his motor his heart and his skill?I'm sure hype about the first hit will be there just like for carson.I would just think biggest problem would be mental. Quote
WhoDeyForever Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I think he will come back. He defintaly has the heart to unlike some of these players Hopefully he will be back by next season if not then 08 for sure Quote
Kirkendall Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Go back to defensive end? Would limit the amount of violent collisions. Quote

If he can return the same as before, then that'd certainly be great news. Quote
BengalPappaw Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I certainly hope he can come back. After the physical problems are resolved, the major challenge is for him to have that "desire to excel" that made him a special player in college. If he comes back with that "fire in his belly", then he will have a good season -- and I will be real happy to have him back.If Pollack attacks his recovery and desire to play the way he used to attack QBs -- then he will be back as effective as ever.I agree that he may be a third down, pass rushing, DE -- until he convinces himself (and the coaches) that he can do more. Here's hoping he can, and does, come back quick and strong! BengalChamps Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Go back to defensive end? Would limit the amount of violent collisions. This makes alot of sense. Quote
Kazkal Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Mybe thats why they'll franchise justin keep him around 1 year well pollack recovers then pollack takes over following year. I'd be more happy with him and jumpy as our DE's Quote
cincy9275 Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 no i think he is done. the risk is not worth it. he's got money a education looks to be on his way back to being in good health . why risk being paralized for a game. everyone who plays takes a chance at getting hurt but he already broke his neck. i don't think it is worth it. Quote
Sportsdoc Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Nope. His heart is not in it. Even if he comes back, he won't be any more than Landon............. Quote

Spain Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Water boy? 50/50. Hell be back wether hell be good is the ? Quote
agreen_112 Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 All of you seem to think that he won't make much of an impact if he does return, I don't see that. Pollack returning is definitely an upgrade to any of the LB's we played this year... If he returns, he will most definitely make a difference to our terrible defense! Quote
oldschooler Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 A screw and a plate have been inserted into his body and doctors say that eventually his neckwill be stronger than ever. Knowing what medical science can achieve today, there is reason to believe that Pollack will again dress out in his Cincinnati Bengals uniform on game day. What I hear: Pollack's doing great... currently working out, rehabbing... very, very dedicated. Physically,(barring setback) he will eventually be cleared to play - no timetable on that. Its a mental thing all the way. Quote

I know the injuries are different, but mental toughness, I think, is dead on. Once Pollack feels comfortable with the neck, he'll think about schemes rather than his neck. While not as serious, Palmer had a similar mental transition period. Quote

jonahdsage Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 everyone is going to talk about how it was a fluke injury, how the doctors say he's no more likely to do it again etc. etc. and we'll all be excited when he comes back to play and has a great few games, seasons whatever. Then when it happens again and he's paralyzed everyone is going to say "what an idiot! how could you risk that? it's JUST football." and on and on and on. It's his decision to play or not, but man, i can't really imagine going back. I think he should just start coming over to my house on sundays to eat cheese dip and talk trash about the steelers.
