HoosierCat
Good summary from gbnreport.com...College star game season extended… The college all-star game schedule usually concludes with the Senior Bowl, however, this year pro scouts have one more stop as the inaugural Texas versus the Nation game in El Paso. While, were back home in toasty Ottawa, Sigmund Bloom from www.footballguys.com and co-host of “The Audible”, a top 100 pro sports podcast on iTunes has kindly agreed to send us daily reports from the ground. Here’s Sigmund’s preview of the Texas/Nation star game.In fact, they might also have named the game the ‘second chance bowl’ as it includes a number of players getting just that. Florida DT Marcus Thomas, for example, appeared to be headed toward an early first day pick this year before being kicked off the team for reportedly failing a drug test. The roster also includes former Minnesota RB Gary Russellwho left school last summer and did not play this fall. Same for former Texas RB Ramonce Taylor, who was booted from that program and did not play this season after police found a stash of marijuana in his car.Meanwhile, the Texas/Nation game also includes a number of small-school stars including QBs Justin Rascati of James Madison and Jeff Smith of Georgetown, Charleston Southern junior WR Maurice Price, and Bethune-Cookman LB Taurean Charles. The game itself is scheduled for 10 PM ET Friday evening after a week of practice. You can find full rosters here (scroll down):http://www.elpasotimes.com/texasnation/ci_4997747
