Whur CHad At?
Raiders | Team interested in Vick?Mon, 22 Jan 2007 14:35:58 -0800FOXSports.com reports the Oakland Raiders are preparing to make a run at Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick, according to NFL sources. The Raiders would possibly package WR Randy Moss, WR Jerry Porter and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft in exchange for Vick and the Falcons' first-round pick, which is No. 10 overall.Intresting...although I don't see it happening because trading Vick will mean a $22 million cap hit for the Falcons who only have $7.5 in free space, from what I have heard. Personally I would never want Vick on my team because he is NOT a Quarterback, he is not good at the posistion and is so overrated it ain't funny
MacD BengalFan
But dare I say that he is an upgrade for the Raiders. Walters and Brooks are both horrible and neither could even be a back-up on most teams.

The hit can be split over two seasons, and much of that cap hit is money you'd otherwise pay him anyway. Considering that they'd probably start Schaub, whom they currently have, they'd eat basically a few million a year above what they'd pay him in the first couple of years but save money after that, although naturally Schaub would want a raise, etc...bottom line is, they can't possibly *keep* him through the end of the contract with as inconsistent and lazy as he is. So if they're to get rid of him, do it now when you have a team that might be dumb enough to do the deal.
Stripes
Great for the Falcons aside from the cap hit, but horrible for the Raiders and for Vick. I see no way Al Davis actually agrees to that trade.Imagine Randy Moss, Jerry Porter, Michael Jenkins, Roddy White, and Ashley Lelie with Matt Schaub throwing them the football. He loves to put the most athletic possible people on the field, regardless of how they act, sabotage the team, make stupid decisions, etc. Like how he traded for Moss in the first place. The only problem is that this would basically give the Falcons 5 guys who are - or think they are - the #1 receiver. 6 if you count Crumpler who has been Vick's #1 receiver the last few years. Of course they are bringing in Petrino, but how many receivers do you dress on game day? They'll probably need to deal one or two of them for something else.Still, if I'm Atlanta, if I can figure out how to massage the cap, I do this deal before somebody in the Raider beats Davis over the head. I don't know whether the report is accurate (naturally), but they make it sound like this is the Raiders' *offer*.

The Sporting News did an article on the Raiders and why they are so bad and the things Al Davis did makes you wonder where his head is. He goes from one topic to another in mid sentence. I actually think he is going senile. I would firmly believe that he would agree to this deal because he doesn't know any better.

I just expect Davis would rather use the first overall pick on a new freak athlete than go after a proven underwhelmer in Vick. He is a crazy old bastard though, so anything is possible. But neither has Vick-like buzz. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be stupid to trade the farm for Vick vs. just using that #1 pick, but I think Davis is mentally out to pasture. jditty47
why waste a pick on a WR that wont be able to get the ball? if the raiders take johnson mb our 1990s wont be as mocked as the 2000s raiders.
