nechemia
If we can get a first or second round pick for this guy, that would be a dream come true, hell I would take a third rounder. First of all, he is overrated, so someone might take the bait. Second of all, I am tired of wasting Carson's prime years with a mediocre back that most of us could beat in a 40 yard dash. Third of all, it is time for the Chris Perry era to begin......
MacD BengalFan
Chris Perry has yet to prove anything. As far as I am concerned, he is another Ki-jana Carter as he spends more time on IR then on the playing field. Without Rudi, the Bengals have no running game. He may not have breakaway speed, but he can ram a defense into submission when given the chance. What the Bengals need to do is find a way to get rid of Perry and find another back that can compliment Rudi. You know, one that can stay healthy for an entire season. Stripes
I assumed we'd be finished with the "start Chris Perry" cries by now, but there's always someone holding on to the rail of his bandwagon praying the cliffside ahead is just a mirage. Spor_tees
I think this Perry has a better chance of starting at RB for the Bengals...
Kazkal
Rudi is overrated by bengal fans (saying he's a top 5 back)But that being said he's still a good back but he's more of someone for 2 back attack like we were suppossed have with perry. When he has been healthy he has shown that he has crazy potential, yes his constant injuries are getting ridiculous, but when Rudi is healthy all he shows us what a mediocre running back looks like. I think that would be a good slogan for the new year: "Let the C.Perry era begin"

I think that would be a good slogan for the new year: "Let the C.Perry era begin"Come on now, this is coming from a Lion's fan. If you like Perry so much then why didn't you guys give up your second round pick for him on Football Futures? How can you say a guy is a mediocre RB when he broke the Bengal's single season rushing yardage record in back to back seasons? How can you say he is a mediocre RB when he rushed for over 1,300 yards this year behind a beat up line? Let's see...his rushing totals the last 3 years: ATT Yards AVG TDS2004 CIN 361 1454 4.0 12 2005 CIN 337 1458 4.3 12 2006 CIN 341 1309 3.8 12 Damn I would say that is pretty consistent other than the drop off this year and that has already been explained. The other main thing about Rudi, is he plays hurt unlike Perry. Rudi played 14 out of 16 games last year with a hurt knee that required surgery at the end of the year and he still broke his own single season rushing record. In conclusion, all the "Let's start Perry" people can just shut up and sit down now. You can get off the bus now...you have been taken to school. Third of all, it is time for the Chris Perry era to begin......Let's trade a consistent RB that has broken the franchise single season rushing record twice and replace him with a guy that can't stay healthy. You sound like Al Davis, going for a guy with speed and athleticism over somebody with superior football skills. I, unlike many, still like Chris Perry and think he could be a valuable weapon if he can ever get healthy, but even if he could stay healthy for a whole season he wouldn't be able to carry the load like Rudi does. I would like to see Rudi put the weight back on though. I think his lower playing weight this season made him a worse player.

As a third down back, he's great. Let's keep him in the fold and let him fill that role. He is injured far too frequently, as we all well know, and I assumed that would end the "start Perry" stuff. It's never going to happen.Rudi's numbers over the last four seasons look like this (keep in mind he shared the ball in '03 and the line sucked in '06):1,254 carries, 5,177 yards (4.1 YPC), 45 TDsNeedless to say, he's the man.
