Btrester151 Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 The Bengals today signed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, one of the team’s restricted free agents, to a one-year contract Quote
Btrester151 Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 thats better news than the monday night game....lol :player: Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 i have liked him for a while, hopefully he will play this year Quote
skyline Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 yeah i really missed this guy last year. i thought he showed a ton of promise. Quote
jditty47 Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 i am on the opposite side of the spectrum. Hes a #5 wideout at best and mb a special teamer...but plz o plz do not have him returning kicks. Hes sooooooo slow. Quote
schweinhart Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 And could he fumble more I was hoping for four WR or if a fifth then from the draft. But since it's TJ for now, a play or two in the book to him might come up with big gainers until he gets creamed running across the field like a berserker. chrishcovga Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 1.Chad Johnson2.Peter Warrick3. Kelley Washington4. Patrick Johnson5. Kevin Walter6. T.J....?Someone's gotta go I think..he he Quote
Reimersfan88 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 The only thing I've seen fron T.J. is a pony tail hangin' out the back of his headgear. Quote
jditty47 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 ya more i think about it, the more i think that this is a waste of a signing...hes gonna be 5th on the depth chart, which means he might play 1-2 plays a game, and might get 1-2 catches all season. I guess hes good for practice and mb special teams...but PLZ oh PLZ do not allow him to touch the ball on returns. Quote
skyline Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 i just remember going to a game a couple of years ago where t.j. made a few really big catches for us in one game. i may be wrong, but it might have been that pitt. game where kitna threw for 394590358 yards, and we ended up coming from behind to win in overtime. JonFnKitna Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 1.Chad Johnson2.Peter Warrick3. Kelley Washington4. Patrick Johnson5. Kevin Walter6. T.J....?Someone's gotta go I think..he he Chad, Peter, and Kelly are locks. But PJ, KW, and TJ are fighting for 2 spots. TJ isnt much of a punt returner, but i did like his TD that he caught against the lions from palmer in the preseason, so maybe there is some chemistry. Walter is the youngest one and is a great gunner on special teams, i think his job is the safest of the 3. We MIGHT keep 6 wrs, but i doubt it. I think Patrick might end up the odd man out because hes the oldest of the 3, and has the least experience with this offense. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 We MIGHT keep 6 wrs, but i doubt it. With Carson's cannon of an arm we might NEED six recievers! I can see ALOT of fly patterns in their future, and they'll need a breather every third play! Quote
The Brew Man Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I keep thinking its a waste to keep TJ around too. I mean he did absolutley nothing last year for us. But, theres gotta be a reason Marvin is keeping him around. In Marvin we trust! Quote

But, theres gotta be a reason Marvin is keeping him around. In Marvin we trust! I agree. There is too much competition at WR now, sure in the past TJ is a lock now it's gonna be a fight for him to make the team. Quote
BENGALBUCKEYES Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 i dont see tj touching the ball as a returner we have three good return men already in o'neal, warrick, and p. johnson. Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Actually, Marvin hinted that Bratkowski's system implements keeping 6 wide receivers on the roster. The key here will be for the coaches to find a "James Brooks" at the backup running back spot. I.E. - a guy like Larry Centers, that can add 35 + catches a year as a backup running back. * Or we could simply buy Matt Schobel a "total-gym" so he could stay healthy for 16 games. Quote
ntpou Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Why do we keep signing this guy he barely played last year Quote
Barbarian Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Why is everyone getting excited about the signing of a Special Teamer/#6 WR??? RELAX.It's not like the Bungles just signed Warren Sapp or something....Oh, Whoops. Quote
Btrester151 Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 I was actually kidding about this signing being bigger than the mnf game.....lol. I hate this guy...he is horrible Quote
