Kochman Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 NFL | Rice will enter the NFL DraftSun, 7 Jan 2007 19:20:38 -0800The Associated Press reports South Carolina WR Sidney Rice will give up his final two seasons of college eligibility and enter the 2007 NFL Draft. Quote
Kazkal Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Well word is calvin wont enter with a good combine he could be 3rd WR off the board...but the reason he is going to enter early is because he needs money because of family ala Jeanty going to canada. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I don't see him going the first day, unless his combine is unbelievable and he doesn't drop a pass Quote
Stripes Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 TDB thinks Rice is the second best receiver in the draft, and is close behind Calvin Johnson. Quote
Kazkal Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 TDB is probbley wrong because dwight is 2nd best rice 3rd....though I like me some higgins and think he'll turn in to great WR for someone. Quote
Bengalbob Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Has Calvin Johnson declared yet? I see him all over the top few picks of every mock, but I still haven't seen that he's declared. I remember when he first went to Tech he said that he was going to stay four years. I know a lot of kids say that, but Calvin seems a little different in that regard. If he doesn't declare this year that definitely sends Jarrett and Rice up the board. Quote

schweinhart Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Sure did take Rice a long while to jump out. Maybe not a 1st round evaluation. He's a great possession receiver and catches everything but separation on routes and go-up-and-get ability are going to be issues with him. Calvin, Jarrett, Ginn and Meachem are all more dangerous receivers than him and possession receiver wise he should be behind Samardzija but teams won't be willing to invest a high pick if they think he's leaning toward baseball. Other bigger receivers like Dwayne Bowe and Paul Williams could get Rice pickled. Quote
