Sportsdoc
Odell has a bad weed problem (AKA Ricky Williams).... he was so "Blunt" that he did not report for a drug test which is an automatic failure... he consciously chose not to report because he was positive. I think he will be just like Ricky..... a true chronic bluntman........... which means he will never have any consistency in his career since his next positive will be an even longer suspension
cinci_bengals
Yes, give him a chance.I mean look how many times Henry has messed up and he is still on the team!Seriously O'dell is young and didn't know better!

Didn't know better? That's the biggest crock of b.s. I have ever heard. Yeah, he's young, but he's what 24? He's a grown freakin' man. It doesn't take until you're 24 to learn you shouldn't do meth, snort cocaine, smoke a fatty, and drive a car drunk. Especially when you're job is on the line and you have teammates counting on you. Odell is the definition of a me-first guy. And look, now, according to reports, he hasn't even been working out. He's fat and out-of-shape. The guy doesn't want to come back. He doesn't care. He's doesn't care about anyone, but Odell. Sad, but true. Cut him.

But you can be sure my reaction will not have as part of it "he is young and doesn't know better." No. Not an option at 24. 16 maybe. Perhaps even 18 ... maybe. 24? No. Marvin has talked many times about choices. That's what it comes down to. These MEN are plenty old enough and mature enough to make choices. When they make them like some of these guys have, it is pure and simple selfishness and with zero care and concern for their team, organization, and the game as a whole. Choices. I believe strongly in second and third chances, but consequences are always there regardless.

Thurmanation
Mannnn you guys act like hes doing heroine and cocaine like Tony Montana, the guy missed a drug test and was caught DUI, THATS ALL WE KNOW...so stop with the saying hes got drug addictions, untill he says on espn that he has issues with drugs, it doesnt matter what rumours you hear.Odell we know its you, stop trying to act like your a fan defending him. YOU ARE ODELL ARENT YOU ?NoYou say "the guy missed a drug test and was caught DUI,THATS ALL WE KNOW"----BULLCHIT, we know a lot more than that. Link?We know that he did miss the test and when they(Lewis included) tried to contact him, his cell phone was disconnected, and the only lame-a$$ excuse he could come up with is some "drama" with his lady, blah blah blah.Link? We know that he was suspended, we(he did too) knew the team needed LB's with injuries taking their toll on the position. He was suspended after the last game of pre season, we didint have LB problems till after the browns gameWe know that he didnt give a rat's a$$ about his team needing him back, If he did then his stupid a$$ wouldnt have been drinking and driving, let alone when he's only 1 more game away from coming back from suspension. The team 4-0 in pre season without him and 3-0 in reg. season without him after he was suspended, how did they need him so badly then?We know that he not only didnt give a rat's a$$ about his teammates on the field, but he didnt care about them off the field either. If he did, he wouldnt have jeopardized the safety(and life) by driving the car when he is OVER TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT. If he were close to the limit, you can(maybe) say that he still thought he could drive safely, but when you are OVER TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT, there is now way in hell that idiot could have "reasonably" thought he was able to drive safely. He made a mistake, he shouldnt have gotten in the car under the influence but youd think if you were "OVER TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT" and in his position, wanting to get home late at night be able to not drive? We know that the NFL has Counseling available to players anytime, for any reason, personal, financial, physical, anything, because of the difficulties that an NFL player may experience. HIS STUPID A$$ obviously didnt want to take advantage of that. Who said he needs counseling, hes not the only NFL player to be caught DUIWe know that when in violation, a person is then entered ino the NFL's drug-treatment program, which at that time INCLUDES the counseling he never thought to seek beforehand. Obviously it all fell on deaf ears.AND MOST OF ALL, WE KNOW that he obviously has not to this point, done enough to make anyone believe he will change his behavior, or even done anything to make JUST 1 PERSON say some encouraging words about how he is coming along. I dont see anyone saying anything like "Odell has some demons he's dealing with, but were proud of the progress he's making, he's working very hard, etc" THERE IS NOBODY, REPEAT NOBODY SAYING ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY ENCOURAGING ABOUT HOW WELL OR HOW HARD HE IS WORKING TO BETTER HIMSELF !!!!!!! NOBODYML said his self he didint want to talk about or odell or hear about him "he wasnt part of the team", if your headcoach says he doesnt want you talking about a suspended player you wont talk about him. cincy9275
if henry is still apart of this team then odell should be to. my view is punish all the players who have screwed up. a coach can not show his players he has a double standard for certain players. since marvin has said that he has no double standards for any players that would make him a liar divide his players to be with or against him. if that happens this team is in serious trouble. marvin needs to come up with a way to handle this so that the punishment goes across the board to all the players in question. or start some kind of new policy that starts right now and if anyone breaks it the punishment should be stern and swift and send a message to all the others screw up and your done. oldschooler
Where in the hell are people getting these "reports" of Odell beingon Meth and now out of shape ?It seems to me that you all have "report" and "rumor" confused. And the RUMOR of him being on Meth has been debunked.Geeez. Yes Odell did miss drug test, yes he got a DUI. Some of you all act like he`s a pariah now. And act like he can`t ever be anything more than that.A drug test doesn`t define a person`s worth. I know people thatsmoke pot that have better character and hearts than some self proclaimed Christians. Getting a DUI doesn`t make you a pariah. I just hope your friends and family are more forgiving to YOU whenYOU f**k up. And YOU WILL. Because all humans do...I know this will sound lame but....NODELL!I've had it with character F-ing up this team....I hear ya ! Those bad characters like Palmer who kept overthrowing the ball the last two games !Those bad characters like Brad St Louis who couldn`t snap the ball like he`s paid to !That bad character Shayne Graham that couldn`t hit a FG from a range he hadn`t missed all season !That bad character Tory James, Brian Simmons, hell the whole Defense that couldn`tget off the field on 3rd down ! All of those bad characters that allowed the Chargers to score 42 points in the 2nd half ! You wanna talk about lame ? Blaming the losses the Bengals had on any player thatgot into trouble this year is lame...

I just hope your friends and family are more forgiving to YOU whenYOU f**k up. And YOU WILL. Because all humans do...I agree. I'm sure everyone has friends/family members that smoke pot or have gotten a DUI and I'm sure they're still your friends or they haven't been disowned. Now, I don't hate Odell but when your on an NFL team, representing an entire city you automatically have 10-times more responsibilty than the average person. You can't afford to make mistakes the "average" person would make and when you do it's magnified 10-times. It's all relative: you get paid 10-times(more in most cases) the average salary, you have 10-times the responsibilty, and you get 10-times the crticism when you screw up. You just think a player in the NFL would have strong enough character to bounce back from it especially someone coming from where Odell came from. His grandmother raised him, both of his parents are deceased, he grew up in a household of 17, and football was the only opportunity he had/has to make anything of himself. He beat the odds and took it for granted. Hopefully he's finally learned his lesson. He could be in one of the crystal meth houses tooIf i was any of you i woulddnt be worried about where Odell is this offseason, id worry about where Henry's gunna be.Sounds like your almsot rooting for Henry to mess up again so the pressure is off of Odell.
