ShulaSteakhouse
Hines Ward, Steelers WR"They kept running that same blitz the whole time," Ward said. "It was their blitz of the day, I guess. And Ben saw it. He was on the same page with Santonio and gave him a chance to run after the catch. Santonio just took it to the house from there. He was just running scared." Said Holmes: "He knows I was running scared, just for the simple fact I wanted us to get off the field. We gave those guys a lot of opportunities to beat us and they really didn't want it as bad as we did."Pretty much epitomizes things. Chuck and his stupid simplified game plans and the Bengals' not having any heart nor wanting to win badly enough.Fire Breshnahan please for the love of God. He is out-coached by anyone worth a damn. walshfan
How many times did we watch TJ, Chad and Henry get lit up after a catch? Now how many times did you see our team light someone up in the same fashion? We played to passively.no intimidation from anywhere on the field... why is that? CBin2k7
The Bengals got ripped on that same play at the 2 minute mark in the 4th quarter ahead by 3. Bengals blitz, Holmes breaks off into slant, makes a long gain putting Pitt in FG range. If they don't see this things develop and other teams do, that is a huge problem. All our corners are speed/tecjnique guys. Madieu used to hit some before his bum shoulder, not really now. DJ and KK are good but not really hitters.I noticed the same thing. Need to blow up players on the opposing team from time to time.
GregCook
So the only coaches you'd keep is Marvin, Oline and Backfield? Then who's telling Carson that the rebuilding has begun and we'll try for a SB when he's almost 30? As for cuts, its the defense that is bleeding uncontrolled, half the defense shouldn't be starters next year. Focus on them. And I agree with Bresh being let go. No choice. hines just shines more light on the fact that bresh is bush league. why he still has a job today baffles me. a list of coaches that should be fired today brat ocbresh dc cioffi db's assistantcoyle db'sgunther st/lb/ assistanthayes d-linehuntley lb'sjackson wr'ssimmons stnow add in these players that should be cut asapb robinson t jamesj thorntonb simmonsb st louisd onealtry to retain sign or what ever these players. kkkellyandrewslarsonmillerwatsonwrightlandonkoostrathe other F/A's let them go
Sportsdoc
How do we keep Paul ALexander when he can't teach decent pass or run blocking to anyone. The Patriots get guys who can't cut it anywhere else and Brady stays upright all the time....
Spor_tees
Isn't Alexander the same guy everyone was saying was so great last year when the O-line gave up the fewest sacks of all time? This year was simply the result of having playing time by 2 rookies and one second year guy, along with the fact Palmer held onto the ball more than he did last year. Dan2330
I hate Hines but have to agree with his comments- the Defensive calls remind me of the old Techmo Bowl Football game where you had 4 defensive plays to choose from. Madden 07 has a vast choice of D-plays perhaps Chuck should look into some of those plays....

Why do you need a DB assistant, a ST assistant, and a LB assistant? Can't the regular coaches of those positions handle the job by themselves? If not, fire them and get people who can. I know absolutely that the Steelers at least have the same except for maybe the 'Gunther' position, but even with that they might just call it something else, etc. At worst, the Bengals have 1 more guy among the positions. I mean, sure, we have an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, DB coach, O-line coach, ST coach, etc. But I don't think we have 2 guys doing the same job. duus
the Steeler's actually have more coaches than the bengals do. 17 to 16That's my point. It's just the norm. You can argue over whether it should be necessary or not, and surely over 'quality' of coaches (duh), but it is what it is in the NFL today. jjakq27
Ed Reed made some type of similar comments regarding our offense during the first Baltimore game. I don't remember what he said exactly but I think it was something about being surprised at something we did or continued to do during that game. Any help?
