Why can't the Bengals finish?

We've played so bad at the end of the year for two years now and it always seems that in clutch we fall apart. Missed FG's, bad snaps, dropped balls, turnovers in the go ahead drive at the end of the game. You name it it's happened. Everything that can possibly go wrong has went wrong. I truly believe it's all part of our growing pains and learning process. These things have to happen sometime, so I'd rather them all happen now instead of next year or the year afters SB run.

It's really not a curse, it really comes down to the team. Not that we're a bad team or anythin, we are what we are. Very Talented and semi-young. I mean we just made it to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years last year and should've been back this year.

I don't really know what the point is to what I'm saying, just that this isn't our time. Our time WILL come and it will come real soon. Specifically with Palmer and Marv leading the way...

Last season, we finished the regular season poorly because we had locked up the division and had little reason to put forth a full effort. The playoff game rested on Carson's knee.

This year, they've just choked away too many games to count.

That's not necissarily true. We could've became a top seed with those wins. And if I'm not mistaken it really wasn't that easy to get into the playoffs with Pitt breathing right down our back.

Hey, I agree. They should have played for the 2nd seed last season... but we did lock up the division in Detroit, and nothing Pittsburgh did could have changed that. We then proceeded to lose to the Bills at home (and I have to hope that was a result of effort), and we rested our starters against the Chiefs.

1. Offense slow to come out and establish anything too many times.

2. Defense looks winded early in games. Several commentators have questioned their conditioning. #1 doesn't help in the this regard.

3. No real leader on the field, no one is taking responsibility or getting anyone fired up.

4. Marvin and Bresnahan have no answers or solutions to scheme.

5. In short, they can't out muscle other teams and don't have the ability to out think them either.

6. The players do know how to party.

i feel it's sub-par coaching. these coaches never really had this team prepared for this season. this team constantly made the same mistakes week after week. people can say well it is not the coaches fault for guys missing fg's or getting burnt in coverage or dropped passes. i say yes it is when the same mistakes are happening and not being corrected. then the coaches are not doing a good enough job at getting these guys focused and prepared to play.
