Bengals/Steelers Game Thread

One last Who-Dey, gents. Been a miserable freaking year but we've been through worse.

Go Stripey Underachievers!

Good job Miller. Not.

And....a Cincy timeout on the 3rd snap of the game. Yeah, they look real ready to play today. Sheesh.

Well, we got a stop. Time to see if the offense has pulled its collective head out of its collective a$$ yet...

...not yet. Looks like they dusted off the old "Flying Tigers" game plan from the mid-Nineties. Paging Jeff Blake!

KC up by 7 over Jax. No score in the Jets/Raiders game...

There's a gift for Tory. :sure:

TD Jets. Boo.

As pathetic and sad a display as that was, the Bengals are down by 4 and get the ball first in the second half. This is exactly the sort of game the Steelers have screwed themselves of winning all year. Hoping this is another occurrence of the implosion that is known as the '06 Steelers.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure that the implosion of the '06 Steelers has as much sucking power as the cosmic black hole of suck that is the '06 Bengals.

Yeah, I know. I considered the same as I finished typing that. From a distant, I have seen little to no half time adjustments from the Bengals all year (on either side of the ball). This would be the time to make an adjustment ... any adjustment. Just show me a want-to ... just show me a willingness to try something different ... something new. If they come out and throw every single time, and put 8 guys on the line on D ... whatever ... and if it fails, then so be it. But do something different.

Well, the ball back first does give this hapless Bengals offense a chance to do something positive and create momentum. There is no running room for Rudi in the few carries they've given him so it may make more sense (in any event not any less) to go single back with Watson and line up 3WRs with a TE.

Either that or just recommit to the run game and keep the ball out of Carson's hands. Whatever he had last year looks pretty much gone and having him continue to throw gives the Bengals less chance to win.

It can if they can get Turdburger into passing downs and the mistakes he usually makes there. That will require an actual pass rush, however.

The offense will either connect or it won't - the schemes aren't to blame. For the D, however, if I were Breshnehan, it might ocur to me to ask myself how Baltimore beat the hell out of Pittsburgh twice in eight games while no one else did. Hint: constant blizting from different places and confusing schemes. But that would require Breshnehan to actually think, which doesn't appear to be his specialty.
