HoosierCat
From the "it's anybody's guess" dept't:http://www.900footballlinks.net/2004CollegeDraft.htmThey have 5 guys plus a (fan submitted) draft aggregate all updated to the 24th pick -- and at this point ALL 5 have us taking someone different!BabinStarksTroupeUdezeStraitBabin, a DE out of Western Michigan, was the only one that caught me by surprise (as in "whodafokdat"?). Whodafokdat? http://www.collegefootballnews.com/mac/200...gan_defense.htmMore on senior criminal justice major Jason Babin:http://www.wmich.edu/wmu/news/2003/0312/0304-x106.htmlAnd the first guy who made it in Playboy in 47 years!http://westernmichigan.theinsiders.com/2/108835.html(man, what's with the hair, dude? )
chrishcovga
Can anyone say - Mike Mamula..?? sure he put up big numbers against no name players, I'd feel much better with Odom. and Udeze will not be there at # 24, cause if he did, I'd sh*t a brick if we didn't draft him. HoosierCat
Babin does seem to step up against better competition, but I agree that he'd be a real reach at 24. If Odom we gone here and for some reason I absolutely had to have a DE I'd reach for Hill, first. That said, the guy who picked Babin (jaybird) is right that he's rising up the boards. The Huddle Report has a 3rd round grade on him, while nfldraftblitz's value board has him as a second-round value. If he were still hanging around in the third and we hadn't taken a DE yet, I'd snag him.
chrishcovga
We already have one small end in Justin Smith. I want Odom at # 24 so bad it's ridiculous. 6-5.5 274 lbs. 4.78 in the '40 with good strength. 21 reps lifting 225 lbs. He has a good motor, He does have an old injured shoulder but it cleared all the tests at the combine. I do think that Defensive End is a need, because we haven't had a pass rush in 2 years..! 2001 was a very good year for us a defense, and Clemons and Powell ( who aren't signed past '04) don't make much as a tandem. * another player to make note of is Isaac Hilton from Hampton.and Tony Hargrove from Georgia Tech. Both could come in the later rounds (3rd for Hampton) (6th or 7th for Hargrove) .Both have Willie McGinest qualities.

Bobcat Bengal
yeah it makes sense to pursue Odom....Ive heard hes equally effective against Pass and Run, and since weve addressed our DT and CB situation, why not? I think I might bank on Chris's prediction......my compesatory is Gamble.....put me down for Odom....
