Considering that the Pats are absolutely HURTING for WRs and expecially depth, the fact that they cut him does not cast him particularly well in the skills, work ethic, committment, etc. departments. With all of our "Projects" in the WR department and the depth that we have on the injury report, why would you bring him in for 3 games? Especially when Washington is set to come back within the next couple of weeks and your current setup has been producing at a pretty high level, all things considered.

He did destroy us though, But I agree. He only belongs on one team, the Oakland Raiders, Where work ethic doesn't matter

Yet ironically enough, that's where the Patsies got him this year because he worked himself into Art Shell's doghouse. I don't know where the hell he goes now...the Lions? They seem to collect lazy malcontent WRs.

I had hoped we had reached the point where every name to hit the waiver wire would not prompt a thread calling for us to get him.

Guess not.

Seriously, as wide receiver deprived as the Patriots are, why would you think that a team deep in good receivers like the Bengals could use him, if the Pats saw fit to cut him?

Some guys just don't "fit in" with certain teams. How many teams do you think passed or would have passed on Chad Johnson when he was drafted because of his psersonality and off-the-field issues. Same goes for Chris Henry. Chris Henry hasn't worked through those issues, but for every Chris Henry there is a Chad Johnson that does work through it. A big part of Chad working through it was Hue Jackson. Maybe all that Gabriel needs is to be coached by a guy like Hue Jackson. Seeing as the uncertainty of Chris Henry's future and whether or not he might still be suspended next year, Chatman's regularity to injuries, K-Wash's attitude and regularity to injuries, and the rest of the WR's being rookies or unproven, why not give him a shot? Obviously he has all the physical abilities to be a stud WR in this league. Besides we could use him as a punt returner at least.
