agreen_112
If I had to trade someone from our offense it definitely wouldn't be Housh, Palmer, Chad or Rudi. As much as I like Henry, C. Perry, Washington, Levi and others I'd be willing to give up one or two of them for some defensive talent. Hopefully we can get a guy like Warren Sapp next year to add to the Big Sam anchor. derekshank
Henry has too little return value because of his off-field problems, and too high upside because of his talent level to try to trade him. I'd be willing to trade Perry if I thought we could get any value for him... but that doesn't seem likely either. Washington is a FA after this season, so no luck there. I'm certainly not parting with Levi.Nope... we're going to have to build this defense just like every other team does. Through the draft, supplemented with stop-gap fixes in free agency here and there. We've had lots of reasons it hasn't worked up to this point... and maybe the culture of this team is way too overboard on the offense, but that doesn't change overnight. Instead, you just keep making the offense as good as it can be, and hope the defense doesn't play as poorly as it did last week on a regular basis. Kazkal
Tag steinbach then trade him like fal-cons did.

BengalszoneBilly
I'd still trade Chris Perry for as little as an extra third round defensive pick, and a half eaten bag of skittles.
BengalChamps
The only untouchable is Carson. I would definately trade Rudi, Chad, or BigWillie. I think that Whitworth has made Levi more expendable. I wouldnt want to trade more than one of them. For the right guy(LB who is a force but not over the hill), I think it makes sense. HairOnFire
I'd trade Chris Perry for a small handful of magic beans. BTW, Steinbach gave up another sack on Sunday, and numerous pressures. He simply can't hold his own against power rushers, and I'd wave goodbye to him without giving a single thought to tagging him. in fact, I'd say he needs to go quickly and with all possible speed to a team like Denver or Atlanta where smaller blockers are favored. So who would I give serious consideration as trade bait? Frankly, I've haven't given this very much thought, but off the top of my head I'd guess the most attractive option is...(gulp)...Willie Anderson. Crazy thread. rishipatel
The only players I see as remote possibilities for a trade would be Chris Perry or Steinbach. I think we'd get something worthwhile for either of them, although C Perry may be a tough sell given his lack of production thus far. Washington would be a likely candidate but no one wanted him last yr, so I doubt anyone wants him this yr. And although Bi Willie would likely yield the most in a trade, I don't see it happening. BengalPimp
Dumb thread...you dont trade key components to an offense. They all compliment each other well. Carson is the man, Chad is and Henry are deep threats, TJ is the most dpendable and definately the toughest receiver and who will GO OVER THE MIDDLE, and key on 3rd down. Rudi pounds the ball, while Perry gives passing options out of the backfield...and I think you all realize(considering the ups & downs) that your O-Line can only be consistent, when they all have experience playing together as 1 unit.To take a key component away from the Offense, to get a Defender(and teams dont just trade their best defenders) is a bad move. You cant just expect to "plug someone in" and see big results. Part of the reason the Defense gives up some of those critical plays is that the line-ups keep changing(due to injury, suspension, etc.) I guarantee that our defense would be a whole lot better, if not for the injuries, but even with the injuries, if the same backups were playing alongside each other week after week, and playing the same positions they would work better together as 1 cohesive unit......if you keep "plugging" guys in, the cant get a "feel" for each other....know where the other guys will be.... Arizona
I think dumb thread is a little harsh, but I agree with the idea that this isn't a feasible approach. When Moss was on the trading block a couple of seasons ago, supposedly the Ravens could have had him for either suggs or reed. Thank goodness Ozzie laughed at the Vikings and hung up.The only way to get true value would be to trade one of the guys on that long list you want to label untouchable. But then your offense is gone and you can't be sure your defense will be better.
Dan2330
No body would even sniff at Chris Perry, most teams don't even know that much about him. Here's what they remember: First round draft pick that didn't need to be taken where he was, injury plagued, oh and some fumble in a cruital game on the opening kickoff.. buck3y3d
Why would you want Sapp??He is old, fat, and overrated. He hasnt done anything since signing with Oakland.

agreen_112
Why would you want Sapp??He is old, fat, and overrated. He hasnt done anything since signing with Oakland.yeah right, i think he just got like 2 sacks last week. If you haven't been watching, Oaklands defense is pretty tough! I'd take Sapp, even after what he said about Cincinnati when he was making his free agent tour.
