combatbengal
On NFL.com, they are conducting a pole and the Bengals are leading. I don't think our Def will get us to Miami but I do think we'll make the playoffs. OK I hope we do. Here is the pole as of this morning. If the current division leaders stay true to form and the AFC West produces the top wild card, which of these AFC teams could get the second wild card? 33%Cincinnati Bengals 28%Kansas City Chiefs 24%New York Jets 15%Jacksonville Jaguars Total Votes: 108965

Then what? Can this defense get off the field against any AFC playoff team? Indy? Denver? NE? Don't think so. That's really frustrating. combatbengal
Dude, we will find a way to win the game. I love what the walls stated. The def doesn't have to shut teams down. All they have to do is find a way to stop one or two scores. If we can find a way to get some more take aways (like last year), we havea great chance to get to the post season! NYBengalfan
When we do fix everything, anything can happen. Everyone left the Squeelers for dead last season, and look at what happened
Ox
The problem is, at this point we need help from others to get to the playoffs. That is never a good position to be in. Actually, it pretty much sucks.
derekshank
We have a tie-breaker against Kansas City... so that is nice, but as crazy as it sounds... I think the Jets are in the best position to get that wild-card spot. They might be the least talented of the teams listed... but their schedule is cake after next week against Chicago. Houston, Green Bay, Buffalo, Minnesota, Miami, and Oakland. Man... if we had that schedule coming up, we'd all be a lot more confident. Unfortunately, with the brutal schedule it just doesn't seem realistic that we can get through without at least 1 or 2 more losses. As such, we have to hope for a pretty wholescale meltdown by a few teams.
combatbengal
Any team can loose at any time. Can't take any team lightly. Look at what we did to KC a few years back. We've only lost one DIV game. I know we can beat all three of those teams, so that's 3 more wins! If The Colts have home field advantage when we play them, they'll probably sit the starters! We need to put our energies into a useful and POSITIVE pursuit! To that end, I have compiled (for this week) our nightly prayers and mantras to repeat ad nauseum to channel the appropriate energies and summon the spirits of the pigskin and Football Gods:Atlanta Falcons to beat the Baltimore Ravens, Amen.Chicago Bears to beat NY Jets, Amen.Cincinnati Bengals to beat NO Saints, Oh Lord Deliver Us.Oakland Raiders to beat KC Chiefs, Amen.San Diego Chargers to beat Denver Broncos, Amen. ( We still play Denver so we can beat them head to head to get the WC tie breaker, if we cant catch the Ravens for the Div.)NY Giants to beat Jacksonville Jaguars, Amen.Hail Mary, Full of Grace only work for the Bengals to save face, Amen. PS: Since I am equal opportunity, inclusive and supportive of a diverse fan base, please liberally (or conservatively, if you so choose) substitute the religion, following, or whatever as you see fit for your flavor of religion, druidisim, voodoo, pagan, muslim or what have you for my christian oriented closings. LesterLyles
The Jets shouldn't be taken lightly. W/ a healthy Pennington, they are a proven playoff team and aren't that unchanged from a 10-6 playoff team in 04. I always get a kick of people that use the term "talent". What does that mean? Big play capability? Jets have a ton of talent in the front 7on D and in the back 4 for that mater, have good WRs, and a top 10 Qb. not to mention Mangenius as coach. They are very real!
