bengalboomer7
ONE? Oh, right! Brandon on the practice squad? I don't think that counts! Chris Perry. And don't forget that John Cooper is still on the staff.Chris Perry... yeah. Did you guys see his comments about the game?http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...2/1054/SPORTS06Troy Smith's Heisman is B.S.? Nevermind that he's the QB of the #1 team that has gone wire to wire thus far. Nevermind his 168.7 passer efficiency. Nevermind his more than 8:1 TD:Int ratio. Yeah... that's some B.S. And Tressel's been cheating? Care to back that statement up? How exactly has he been cheating? Or maybe you're just still bitter about the fact that Lloyd Carr has lost 4 out of 5 to Tressel. Look... I'm a buckeye fan, so maybe these comments hit a nerve more than most would... but this is just another reason for a Bengal fan like myself to be fed up with 2-carry Perry. A wasted 1st round pick - A Michigan alum - Talks ridiculous in nature trash - A game he's not a part of - Further separting him from the majority of Bengal fans. Idiot.I seen that yesterday on Rome. Not sure how much to read into but that does just show you how deep this rivalry is. No matter what, you can never get away from OSU/Mich, the successes and failures stay with you forever.I would say this is one of the most hyped regular season games EVER! crttylr
Chris Perry was trying to get brainless Buckeye fans like yourselves that put any stock into what he said, geee lemme think here Perry is a Michigan grad, its trash talk trying to get you all upset, and from the looks of it, it worked. On a different note, lets not kid ourselves kiddies, all I have to say to you all is look what Michigan did to Notre Dame in South Bend, that is not an easy place to play either, and they destroyed them, yes I know Ohio State beat ND last year, but they didnt beat them at ND's house!!!! My prediction for todays game: it will be close all game, but in the end Michigan will win 28-21. And believe this, we Cane fans will definitely be pulling for Michigan, and finally if it comes down to it, I hope that the Bucks get ripped off today in a similar fashion that Miami did in the Fiesta Bowl a few years back!!!! M GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Only for 11/18/2006 or any other time they play the f**kS)

derekshank
-3 in the turnover battle, and we still won? That means to me that we didn't play our best game... but were just flat out the better team. Maybe it would have been different had it been a road game, but it wasn't. Our offense proved itself as the best in the country. (Michigan's defense allowed only 329 rushing yards in 11 games... and we went for over 200!)Michigan is clearly the 2nd best team in the country... but that doesn't mean much right now. The Buckeye's stay undefeated even when they make way too many mistakes. Clear #1.No question the Buckeyes are the best team in the land and it sure looked like the advantage that made the difference was coaching. OSU had Michigan absolutely clueless in the 1st half between their 5 receiver spread, blocking scheme up the middle and other formations in between. And Troy Smith just shredded their D with a lot of quick throws and perfect timing to take advantage of bizarre mismatches that Michigan let go on and on for almost the whole 1st half. The Buckeye defense hardly shut down Michigan but they got great play from Vernon Ghoulston up front and CBs Antonio Smith and Malcolm Jenkins. Great win and after watching USC-Cal, I really hope to see an OSU-USC national championship game because USC's defense is highly confusing for a QB to read and their offense is starting to gel. That IMO would be the best matchup but they might have to really trounce the Irish to get there ahead of Michigan, which is clearly the 2nd best team in the land. The Buckeye's stay undefeated even when they make way too many mistakes. Clear #1.After watching the game, I say both teams look very beatable. Sure they played well at times, but at other times both teams looked kind of JV-ish. (think about snapping the ball, poor tackling etc, disappearing defenses). From their performance yesterday, I don't think (nor see how) you can determine that Michigan is the second best team in the country. Great teams put a +3 defensive performance into the win column. BUT give OSU credit. Their defense stood tall when it had too. Random other thoughts:I think both defenses would struggle against WVU. Neither defense looked fast enough to me.I watched the first half of the CAL/USC game and both those teams looked (to me) every bit capable of hanging with both the Buckeyes and Wolverines.Going out on a limb here I say neither OSU nor Michigan will win the national title UNLESS they play each other or OSU gets to whip up on Notre dame. bengalboomer7
I don't think we watched the same game. OSU was a few mistakes away from blowing out Meeeeechigan. OSU put up more than double the yards(503) that Michigan was allowing per game(231). OSU had six different players score TD's. OSU cleaned Michigan's clock despite the score. It's not suprising that the defenses looked weaker than usual, each team has dominant offensive capability, especially OSU. Mistakes are part of the game, but Troy has shown great ability to minimize his mistakes. Despite Troy making some huge mistakes, OSU still pulled out the win. Is there a team out there that never looks "beatable"? I am confident OSU can beat any team out there this year except possibly themselves (boy did they try it yesterday too). What makes you think that USC, CAL or any other college team is likely to beat OSU?

How about the phantom defense allowing a "outmanned Michigan team" to score at will (except when the D had its back to the wall). Clock cleaning or not, the final score doesn't indicate that to have been the case. Granted OSU could have put them away many times (and if they are a great team they would have. cincy9275
i have to laugh at all the haters. OSU beat the number 2 ranked team twice this season texas and michigan. other than illinois and mich. OSU average margin of victory was 17+ points. there defense until saturday was giving up 7 points per game plus the held 7 of there opponents to a td or less . then they win every game on there season schedule. there average score as of now per game is 32.6 points to 10.4 points per game that's a 22.2 margin of victory over a whole season. when your winning by 3 td's per game that's pretty damn domainit any way you look at it. then to try to judge these teams by what they done to each other is just absurd you can't. as for the badgers they did have a good season but they were handed there asses by mich. they have gave OSU some troubles in the past but they are no way on the level of OSU this season. also how was mich a undermanned team? they have a good qb a heisman candidate for r/b 3 damn good w/r's a very good defense OSU may have more talent but there is now way that mich was undermanned. we will see who plays OSU in the championship game usc still has 2 tough games in notre damn and ucla who is there rivals. florida still has to play florida st plus there championship game . so i will go out on a limb and say florida st beats florida and the irish beats usc to send mich to play OSU again. even though i would rather play usc or florida over mich. i just don't think that usc and florida are that good. but right now it is usc's to lose if they win out they go if florida wins out i don't think they will jump mich in the bcs. if the irish wins out they will not go because of there loss to mich. regardless i don't care who OSU plays i believe OSU will win it. but my gut telling me that it will be mich. At least the SEC, big 12 and the others have a remedy for this. The big ten needs to address this.MIchigan's rank of #2 in the nation, this late in the season, is hardly abritrary. If OSU can have 3 turnovers and still beat the #2 team, how is USC or Florida going to match up against them? oSu doesn't have a dominant look because they played two close games all year? It's not as if they have had some cakewalk schedule either. What do they have to do to be considered dominant then? They can't just beat the #2 team twice, they have to blow out both teams? I guess to really be a dominant QB, Troy Smith hs to throw three TD's to himself and singlehandedly outscore his opponents. I suppose if we allow only four buckeyes on the field at a time, and still win by 17 points, then we'll "have that dominant look of other 13-0 teams".On the game, the turnovers would be a serious concern if they weren't an anomoly. Troy Smith is a master at avoiding mistakes, he just made a few more than usual in this one game. The score also is not a good indication of the defense giving up 10 of those points when they had a short field to defend, 9 yards at one point. Also, despite giving up three drives on turnovers, the O managed to put up 41 points on one of the best defenses in college football. Believe what you like but OSU will defeat anyone they play in the championship. I hope we get to play Florida or USC or some other 1 loss team everyone is hyped about so that we can shut people up, again. We played one of our worst games this year against Michigan and STILL won. No offense, I just get high strung about college ball.
derekshank
Both fumbles were because the Center was wearing a cast on his hand. That doesn't make the fumbles less costly... but he'll have it off for the championship game. Those mistakes won't happen (and if those mistakes didn't happen against Michigan, OSU would have had that dominant look, most likely winning by 17 or more).
