Well, considering the best teams the Pats have beaten are the Bengals and Vikings (who didn't seem to show up for this game), I wouldn't crown them just yet. I mean, "If you want to crown them, then crown their asses!" (Sorry, couldn't resist the opportunity for a Dennis Green quote)

If the Pats were in the AFC west or South, they'd look alot less impressive. Hell, if they were in the North their record wouldn't be as good as it is. 2 games against the Bills, the surprising but not quite ready yet Jets, and the dissapointing Dolphins is a good way to collect a bunch of wins.

That's what I said before the season... That they'd finish with a good record by winning a bad division but would then flounder in the playoffs.

I don't think that's the case now. Yes, the AFC East is horrible after the Patriots... but they look just like the 2004 team to me on both sides of the football. Brady is just rediculous, and the players around him have adapted to the scheme as necessary to move the team foward.

We'll find out a lot about the Pats next week against the Colts... As of right now, though... There my favorites to win it all by a longshot. Fork the Colts and the Bears.

I haven't given up on the Bengals, before half the board calls me a crappy fan. Gotta make the playoffs first though. :sure:

As long as the Broncos are still in the playoffs, I don't think you can pick the Pats to win the Super Bowl. Denver just has their number.

The Colts are a better team too. Actually it's pretty sad that the Pats are the 3rd best team in the AFC. Our conference has really taken a step back this year, with the Steelers falling apart, the Bengals playing below expectations, Jacksonville refusing to step up to elite status, and the Chargers losing Merriman for 4 games.

The Pats do have a great running back in Maroney, but their recievers are still sub-par, and that will be exposed against teams with better defenses than the Vikings. The offensive line hasn't been as impenetrable as during their super bowl runs, so it's easier for a good defense to get pressure on Brady. And their secondary is still weak. Oh, and of course Vinatieri, the guy who won all their Super Bowls and other big games, is gone and replaced by the not nearly as reliable or clutch Stephen Gostkowski.

I really expected Maroney to tear up that game, especially as he was heading back to the Dome.
